TREVOR A. HASSELMANN SENTENCED TO FIVE YEARS IN THE
ILLINOIS DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTIONS FOR THEFT
Patrick D. Kenneally, McHenry County State’s Attorney, announces that 24-year-old Trevor A. Hasselmann of Belvidere, Illinois, was sentenced on November 13, 2020, to five years in the Illinois Department of Corrections by the Honorable Judge James Cowlin following a negotiated plea of guilty.
Under the Truth and Sentencing Guidelines, Hasselmann will serve 50% of the sentence received.
Hasselmann will serve a one year period of mandatory supervised release upon completion of his sentence.
On September 21, 2018, Hasselmann was temporarily staying at a residence in Woodstock, Illinois when he stole property from the homeowners.
The property was valued at approximately $7,500.
The investigation was conducted by the Woodstock Police Department and was prosecuted by Taylor Nesbit of the McHenry County State’s Attorney’s Office.
