“For the reasons stated above, the Minority would dismiss the Notice of Contest solely on procedural grounds without reaching consideration of the merits.”

Congressman Rodney Davis (R, IL-13), Ranking Member of House Committee on Administration, 5/11/21

It’s finally over.

The 2020 candidacy of Jim Oberweis (R, Sugar Grove) finally ended with the U.S. House Committee on Administration in a bipartisan move, dismissing Oberweis’ contesting the election of Congresswoman Lauren Underwood (D, IL-14).

From the desk of John Lopez: While Oberweis had every right to pursue discovery recount and contest the election, when Democrat Rita Hart formally ended her challenge of a 6-vote loss in the Iowa Second Congressional District on March 31, Oberweis should have let discretion play the better part of valor and done the same given his margin of defeat was nearly 5,400 votes, not 6 votes.

  1. It’s time to put the last defeat behind him and gear up the campaign for his next loss.

  2. Bye bye moo man.

Please don’t waste our time again.

Thanks to you we have Underpup, a stinko witch.

  3. Looks like things have soured for the milquetoast man – good riddance.

  4. I am not a fan of Mr. Oberweis. I voted for Catalina Lauf.

However, Oberweis was robbed of this election.

Underwood should feel grateful for those 10,000 ballots that were “found” in Will county at the last minute.
