IL-06: Sean Casten Reacts to Kyle Rittenhouse Not Guilty Verdict

Sean Casten

From Congressman Sean Casten’s congressional office press release:

Casten Statement on Devastating Verdict out of Kenosha

November 19, 2021 Press Release

“I’m appalled that today our judicial system allowed a hate-fueled white vigilante to walk free when he traveled across state lines to use a weapon of war to intimidate and then murder Joseph Rosenbaum and Anthony Huber, and shoot Gaige Grosskreutz.

“We must ask ourselves, why is it we are familiar with the shooter but not the names and stories of those whose lives were ripped away?

“I encourage all to read Anthony Huber’s parents statement expressing their pain:

‘Today’s verdict means there is no accountability for the person who murdered our son. It sends the unacceptable message that armed civilians can show up in any town, incite violence, and then use the danger they have created to justify shooting people in the street. We hope that decent people will join us in forcefully rejecting that message and demanding more of our laws, our officials, and our justice system.’

“As we reflect on the outcome of today’s verdict, we must remember those who had their lives ended far too short; Anthony Huber and Joseph Rosenbaum.

“My heart goes out to their families, friends and community mourning today’s devastating verdict. We will not forget your names.”

Kyle Rittenhouse

From the desk of John Lopez: No Congressman Casten, we already know all there was needed to be known about the dangerous men who tried to do bodily harm to then-Illinois resident Kyle Rittenhouse the night of August 25, 2020 in Kenosha during the civil unrest.

McHenry County Blog published all that was needed to be known back on August 27, 2020 here.

And as far as Anthony Huber’s father, during a pre-trial hearing earlier this year, we learned all we need to learn about that character when on the ZOOM hearing, old man Huber gave an obscene gesture to Judge Schroeder when he ruled to deny an arrest warrant for Kyle Rittenhouse.

But more disturbing is Casten’s complete willful disregard for the jury in the Kyle Rittenhouse trial from Friday, let alone placing defamatory remarks, FROM HIS CONGRESSIONAL OFFICE, about Rittenhouse.

Rittenhouse was found not guilty on ALL FIVE felony counts, just as then Chicago Tribune op-ed columnist Eric Zorn predicted in his September 3, 2020 op-ed.

Rittenhouse was forced to neutralize Rosenbaum, Huber and Grosskreutz when they clearly meant to do him bodilly harm, including killing him.

Because of their own actions, justice was served on them, and all three men got what was coming to them.

This Thanksgiving, I give thanks to the 12 men and women of the jury last week, who ignored the “court of public opinion” and applied Wisconsin law and the absolute truth of the evidence and make their verdict as it should be for Kyle Rittenhouse — NOT GUILTY!

  1. Sean Casten does NOT have a single hemorrhoid making him a perfect a,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

  2. I don’t disagree with the jury verdict that KR was acting in self defense as least as he perceived it.

Although the fact that he traveled to another city in another state where he walked around with an assualt style rifle and walked up to people known to be hostile to him could be considered “provocation” that would negate the self defense claim.

However, “provocation” in this sense is a bit of a stretch as it is probably intended more for the situation where someone defies someone else to come at them and then pulls out a gun and shoots them.

Nevertheless, the verdict sends a signal that it’s now OK for private citizens to “decide” that the police “need help” and show up, completely untrained and unsupervised, with their own weapons to dispense vigilante “justice”.

A recent poll showed that 46% of Americans think that a civil war is “likely”. https://www.brookings.edu/blog/fixgov/2021/09/16/is-the-us-headed-for-another-civil-war/

If it happens, historians may point to the Rittenhouse trial as a key factor that led to it.

  3. BecauseScience, please read my article about Governor Pritzker’s ridiculous statement from Friday.

Please watch Eric Zorn’s take on the verdict when asked about it last night in the video in that article.

If that doesn’t open your eyes to the truth, and blow away what you wrote, and citing the Leftist Brookings Institute poll about a 2nd civil war, I don’t know what will short of divine intervention.

  4. Nice Job Casten, and Prickzger fanning the flames to inspire a BLM terrorist to kill children.

    Disgusting and irresponsible.

  5. BecausebullshitScientist, Self- proclaimed holder of many advanced degrees and ultra high I.Q.
once again attempts to astound us with his deranged intellect, but as usual, fails miserably.
    Now on to Kyle’s victory.

When I heard that the jury found Kyle NOT GUILTY on all counts, I celebrated with a beer … and three shots.

    #FJB, now and forever.

  6. Shalom Ya’ All –

I came back after a few months hiatus and find the ignorance and bigotry continues. Thank you Wylie for that reminder.

    Stay ignorant my friends.

  7. Even though Marie Newman is considered more left-wing than Sean Casten and probably has a better chance of winning in a general election, my conscience does not allow me to root for Casten in the primary based on those political calculations.

Sean Casten is just too odious and odorous.

He is literally out there defending looters, arsonists, terrorists, child molesters, and other baddies who invaded a community to destroy it.

    He offends all good sensibilities.

    He disrespects entire states.

    He loathes Christians.

He detests white people. He wants you to be disarmed and attacked by mobs.

He is a bad person — a demonic punk not even worthy of picking up dog excrement.

It is a great relief that he will no longer be representing McHenry County after redistricting, but ideally he should not be representing anybody anywhere.

There is something seriously wrong with that guy.

  8. It has ALWAYS been OK for private citizens to decide to protect themselves and their property when the police WON’T help.

It’s a human right, plain and simple.

When I was his age, I probably spent more time north of the border than south, at least socially.

And there were, um, guns in that environment then too.

The whole border part of the argument is ludicrous.

ANY resident of ANY other state is afforded the full rights and privileges of any other state’s laws.

As well as the expectation that they‘ll be prosecuted as well, if need be.

Even though Binger botched admission of evidence testifying as to the gun’s physically natural illegality (probably because such evidence would have proved that aspect of the legal charge was incorrect), it was a muddled mess of argument and statute that had to be dropped.

    Logic and law prevail.

And so….feelings. Those are more important these days.

I felt Binger was behaving both dishonorably and desperately.

    ✌️😎

  9. If you’re handed a sh*t case, and it HAS to be tried, at least have the courage to present a straight-forward nothing case.

  10. Casten…. Kinzinger…. how does Illinois get all the Luck?

  11. I will never forgive Casten for his remarks after the Kyle Rittenhouse trial.

They were despicable, ugly, uncalled for etc.

He prejudged Kyle and did not listen to the whole trial.

Casten you will never ever get my vote and I will definitely go to work for your replacement.

I’m sure she can run circles around you.

    You disgust me.
