19-Year Old Man Accused of Spraying Empty Harvard Home with Bullets

From the Harvard Police Department:

SHOTS FIRED / AGGRAVATED DISCHARGE OF A FIREARM

On 11-29-21 at approximately 1830 hrs, Harvard Police responded to the 700 block of West Metzen Street regarding numerous calls for the report of multiple shots fired.

Upon arrival in the area police discovered a residence in the 700 block of West Metzen Street had been struck several times with an unknown type caliber weapon.

Juan Carlos Popoca

It was determined no occupants inside the residence were injured during the incident.

On 11-30-21 at approximately 1330 hrs the Harvard Police Department arrested Juan Carlos Popoca (m-19 yoa), 1409 9th St, Harvard and he was charged with Aggravated Discharge of a Firearm.

Popoca was subsequently transported to the McHenry County Jail in lieu of bond.

This case still remains under investigation by the Harvard Police Department.

  1. Yes, it is a felony, and he was charged with a felony and several misdemeanors in August for another gun incident.
