Algonquin Double Murder Suspect Arrested

From the Algonquin Police Department:

Death Investigation Update – Subject in Custody

[Algonquin, IL – December 2, 2021] – UPDATE

During the afternoon hours of November 30, 2021 members of the Algonquin Police Department responded to the 400 block of La Fox River Drive for a Check for Well Being, related to the male and female residents who had not been heard from.

After being unable to contact the residents an investigation was initiated.

At approximately 12:00 pm on December 1, 2021 two deceased subjects matching the description of the above Algonquin residents were located.

Their cause of death has not been determined; however, due to the circumstances surrounding the deaths, this matter is being investigated as a homicide.

Positive identification of the decedents will be made by the McHenry County Coroner’s Office, as will the cause of death.

At this time, this is believed to be an isolated incident and is suspected to be domestic violence related.

There does not appear to be any threat to the members of the general public.

A McHenry County arrest warrant was issued for Maxim Parnov (36 years of age) for two counts of Concealment of a Homicidal Death (720 ILCS 5/9-3.4, Class 3 felonies).

Parnov was located in at a residence in Salem, Wisconsin and taken into custody without incident by the Kenosha County Sheriff’s Department at 6:48 am on December 2, 2021.

Parnov is currently being held by the Kenosha County Sheriff’s Department and awaiting extradition.

Additional charges against Parnov are pending.

The McHenry County Major Crimes Assistance Team is assisting the Algonquin Police with the investigation into this matter.
