While McHenry County Blog was offline, there were numerous storied that deserved covering.

One as the Town Hall Meeting that State Senators Craig Wilcox and Dave Syverson held in Harvard.

Both Senators will be on next June’s ballot in parts of McHenry County.

Wilcox hosts successful town hall meeting in Harvard

I want to thank everyone who came out to Harvard City Hall last week for my listening tour town hall meeting.

I was joined at this regional event by my colleague State Senator Dave Syverson of Rockford.

Together, we held a panel discussion about important legislative issues that affect Illinoisans, and then we spent about an hour taking questions from a very engaged audience.

These town hall meetings–and especially Q&A sessions–are a great way for me to truly understand the priorities and concerns of the people I represent in Springfield.

Again, thanks to everyone who came to the event.

It was a really successful exchange of ideas.

When I covered the Crystal Lake City Hall Town Hall Meeting of Craig Wilcox, Don DeWitte and Dan McConchie in June of 2019, for instance, I included content.

As a bonus, Wilcox’ Democratic Party opponent, Mary Mahady, was shown at the pro-abortion demonstration outside City Hall.

Likewise in July of 2021, my coverage bought forth the first news that Republican Senators were going oppose the ComEd tax/rate hike bill.
