Trussell Twitter timeline reminder to all aspiring to run for office someday what you say in social media part of your public record and can and will be used against you

The damage control newly minted lieutenant governor candidate Stephanie Trussell, chosen by state Senator Darren Bailey (R, Xenia) yesterday, serves as a reminder to all about social media.

Even if one has never served, or run for elective public office, or political party office or ANY office, what one says/shows on social media will come back to haunt you.

When then acting Algonquin Village President Debby Sosine was elected president in April of this year, she resigned her village trustee spot upon taking the oath of office on May 4.

Under the village of Algonquin’s unique trustee appointment ordinance mandating 30 days before an appointment to replace herself as trustee could be made, coupled with she must notify trustees 15 days in advance of her appointment before an advice and consent vote, June 8 was the earliest date to appoint her replacement.

Sosine chose to appoint former Village Trustee Brian Dianis, who had previously served 3 terms before being voted off the board by voters in 2017.

When Dianis’ name was revealed on June 4 with publication of the Village Board packet for the special June 8 meeting, McHenry County Blog published several articles about Dianis, prior to his appointment given what Dianis said about national politics after he was voted off of the village board in 2017, through Twitter.

Here’s an example of one of many Dianis’ Twitter posts, replying to a Jeanine Pirro tweet:

McHenry County Blog believed Algonquin village residents should know the Twitter public record of Dianis on national issues before he was sworn-in to serve the unexpired term of trustee, and if they chose to, express their concerns at the June 8 public meeting during public comment, prior to the 5 trustees giving their formal advice and consent.

McHenry County Blog also made clear back in June his Twitter record was not a strike issue to stop the appointment of Dianis to the village board.

No village resident showed up to give their public input on the Dianis appointment, but McHenry County Blog was aware of private conversations with some of the trustees concerning Dianis’ Twitter record.

Dianis received unanimous advice & consent and was immediately sworn in as a trustee.

So when Bailey tapped Trussell to be his lieutenant governor running mate, Trussell’s social media record was exposed going back to the presidential primaries of 2016, and what she had to say about then candidate Donald Trump, when Trusell was backing U.S. Senator Ted Cruz (R, TX) for president.

Here is the reactive statement from the Bailey-Trussell campaign after her social media accounts were scrutinized:

“I support President Trump 100%.

“A lot of people had early concerns with President Trump and came on board to support his campaign.

I love this country, and I continue to support the America First agenda that fights for working people; and I voted for President Trump in 2016 and campaigned and voted for him in 2020.

“I am a fighter and not someone who always toes the party line, but I support President Trump and I will not apologize to the internet trolls or the left-wing media for who I am.”

Whether Trussell’s statement will repair political fallout at the revelation of her record about Trump in social media in early 2016 remains to be seen.

Another parallel between Trussell and Dianis, when initial reactions to Trussell’s social media statements were made known, she immediately protected her Twitter and Facebook pages, just like Dianis did during the weekend prior to the June 8 special meeting.

Unlike Dianis, Trussell has since unlocked access to her Twitter though I have not searched to see if the anti-Trump tweets had been deleted.

Dianis’ Twitter account still remains locked.

From the desk of John Lopez: After over 6 months of locking out his Twitter account which has 1 follower, maybe Dianis should just delete his Twitter account, permanently?

Why would he keep it, especially saying “Former Village Trustee” when he is now a current trustee for the village of Algonquin?

Besides, McHenry County Blog already has screenshots of over 30 of Dianis’ tweets and replies in the event Dianis seeks election to the village board in 2023, should there be a contested trustee race little over a year from now.

  1. So, it’s a case of the kettle calling the pot black?

    Say it ain’t so!

I had higher hopes for Bailey.

  2. John, since you follow these politicians so closely here’s something to help you when you see something you find interesting and want to archive it. Go to the Wayback Machine site webpages area. At the bottom of the page, you can enter the url of any of these politicos. It will then capture all posts to that page. Then when the politicos make a faux pas and try to run to the hills by deleting and hiding their accounts, you can go back and see the page and all the posts that were deleted. This is how hypocrites get caught all of the time.

    It’s a very useful resource.

As far as Dianis, I think Lindsey Graham is the bottom of the barrel so him and I agree there. He’s a warmongerer who profits when we go to war. He’s using the Dick Cheney play book. The guy needs to be put out to pasture. Marsha Blackburn I’m on the fence on that one and I’m considering moving to TN.

Anyway, Fox, just like CNN, MSDNC and all other major media including print are owned by the 6 Israeli families. They produce the propaganda to fill people’s heads with BS. Case in point – Covid. And the brainwashed just keep believing.

    Keep exposing these people Lopez.

  3. More than half of all primary Republican voters total voted for someone other than Trump, and then virtually all voted for him in the general.

So that puts Stephanie in the mainstream.

Many more voters claim to have been with Trump “from the very beginning” than there were actual votes for him.

I didn’t vote for him in the primary, and I know plenty who didn’t either.

Twitter turns everything into the breathless excitement of catty 14 year old high school mean girls.

I give it virtually zero regard or weight..

    ✌️😎

  4. Those who listened to her radio show back in the day went through that whole decision process themselves, and in discussion with her on her show, together.

    She’s hardly an apostate.

  5. How is it a case of the pot calling the kettle black?

During primaries I could find plenty of people, politicians, public commentators saying stuff about their Republican candidates who changed their tune once that candidate became the Republican nominee.

For example, Jeanne Ives was rather juvenile in posting things about Trump.

I’m certain she changed her tune now that he proved himself to be a great President.

  6. In this case, I now have higher hopes for Bailey and Republicans.

    ✌️😎

  7. Brian Dianis is a loon with a spoon.

My Daddy played senior league ball with his late Daddy in Mt. Prospect.

The kid was a ‘fig’ according to old man Dianis.

I have no idea what means.

    Maybe it’s a Greek thing.

I do think John Kass would have very little use for ‘Baby Brian.’

  8. Who cares? Over 61% of Republican primary voters in Illinois cast a ballot for someone not named Trump.

Is this really the only thing they can come up with to attack her over? Twitter screenshots from the spring of 2016 when Trump wasn’t even the official nominee yet?

Did she support Trump in the general election? Didn’t she used to go to a bunch of MAGA conventions during Trump’s term in office?

Rodney Davis made a public spectacle out of not voting for Trump *after* the convention but before the fall election in 2016 and he got re-elected that year and in 2018 and 2020 as a Republican.

It seems like a weak criticism. At one point Charlie Kirk the founder of TPUSA was against Trump. Gary Rabine has given that organization tons of money and is or was on its board. Kirk ended up being a big Trump supporter eventually. Should people hold Rabine’s association with Charlie Kirk and Kirk’s former anti-Trump beliefs against Rabine? Of course not.

Gary Rabine said we should vote for Lauf in the 2020 primary because she is a “woman minority with a lot of spunk” instead of “an old white guy.” Should voters hold that against Rabine?

  9. Correcting, good assessment. 100%

And look the crazy reaction from jobless idiot, JT. The only thing he’s working on is trying to get Dems elected.

  10. “The kid was a ‘fig’ according to old man Dianis.”

Maybe you misheard the word. Maybe it was a word close to fig, you know?

There is a “Greek thing” involving “the fig” used in Italy and France too. It’s a hand gesture made as an insult. You give someone the fig. Ficoes or contemptuous motions of the finger. You put your thumb in between your first two fingers. It looks like a vagina. That’s the fig. Some Slavic cultures do it as well as Med cultures. It’s considered offensive. There are articles about it and old dictionary definitions from the 1800’s too. Maybe that has something to do with it?

Or it could be a fig is a little fruit.

Or it could be the fig’s reputation to fall out of the tree. Maybe a metaphor…

Whatever it is it doesn’t sound good!

  11. That guy Brian badly in need of a shave. Look clean. Not like a bum.

  12. Thanks for clarifying, Monk. Glad you like Bailey’s pick. With or without his Lt Gov choice he is way ahead of the others.
His challenger to worry about will only be Sullivan who has tons of money. Tons of money can make you look like you walk on water.

And then there are idiots like Mark Shaw in Lake Co that can be swayed by the muhlah. SAD.

Bailey is the one and only real deal we have running for IL Gov.

  13. Correcting / Monk – “Who cares? Over 61% of Republican primary voters in Illinois cast a ballot for someone not named Trump.” How’d that happen boys? I don’t know.

And corn on the cob – “And look the crazy reaction from jobless idiot, JT. The only thing he’s working on is trying to get Dems elected.” Completely the opposite. Until these machines are eliminated from our voting process, voter rolls are cleaned up and voter id is mandatory, name 1 person you know who will trust what’s going on after 2020.

I’ll continue to vote and not for 1 RINO or socialist democrat.

Corn you are the “fill in the blank”. Explain how I retired in my early 50’s and don’t have to work another day in my life? I’m a happy jobless idiot who just can’t golf or ride right now. Maybe work on saving your money, working your ass off and spending less time posting stupidity on a blog. You might get there some day.

  14. Then you should go after Democrat Legislators, ‘JT’!

A county Clerk cannot ‘get rid of machines, or require voter ID or blow past the process required by statute in order to purge individuals from voter rolls.’

Purging voters from rolls takes a certain number of election cycles before that can happen. (Save the people the Coroner confirms died in the county)

    LEGISLATORS determine the LAW.

  15. JT you are just ignorant as to a county Official’s limitations and the laws they must follow.

But if you’re willing to learn…then p/u on what people are saying to educate you.

We feel your pain and share in the same frustrations but you keep beating the same drum like you don’t see the comments where people have set you straight.

When you do that, you move from ‘ignorant’ to disingenuous.

That’s why people are saying you’re working for the Dems.

    I can’t emphasize this enough:

ALL Republicans want voter ID, voter rolls updated, and the option for paper ballots. (McHenry County has paper ballots, so check that off your list)

Only Politicians in Legislation can change IL laws to reflect change that you and I (and all Republicans) want to see in elections.

The other night Tirio touched on a bill he’s working on with senators that would help protect voter identity and a couple other things regarding election security.

We live in a Democrat run state though so it’s the Democrat positions you should be going after in order to flip IL and attain changes you want to see.

Anyway, If you’re retired, and Republican please represent Republicans at the polls by becoming an election judge.

And consider running for a legislative position.

  16. But The Faker called Tirio does not want voter ID.

He takes no action to beef up ballot security.

    He has a million excuses.

Maybe he should go on a Franks junket to upper Ontario.

Tirio is also a vax freak. Look at his posts on his juvenile site.

  17. LeopardMan, you couldn’t be more wrong…. on all accounts.

Tirio is currently Working with IL Senators to put forth a voter ID protection bill.

He’s not requiring his employees to get the vaccine or test.

And we don’t have to wear masks.

Only when we wait on customers.

Tirio is the one responsible for taking Franks to task and taking him out of politics.

He’s saved the county lot of money, and when he took over-lowered fees and improved processes.

    Has Excuses?

    For what?
