Additionally, Illinois Elections Data research firm put together a handy reference outlining all of Governor JB Pritzker’s contributions since Q1, 2019 through January 14, 2022:

===========================

State Senator Darren Bailey’s (R, Xenia) 4th quarter campaign disclosure report with the Illinois State Board of Elections coming under scrutiny as he appears to have lost momentum with fundraising in the last three months of 2021.

Of the nearly $247K total debts/obligations on Bailey’s report, $150K was loaned to Bailey’s gubernatorial campaign. The remaining loans were from his state representative bid in 2018 and state senate bid in 2020.

The tote board for the 8 Republican candidates running to challenge Governor JB Pritzker is below, with 2022 election cycle-to-date (CTD) for receipts and expenses displayed above in the 1/25/22 update.

Governor Pritzker’s fund raising goes back to the Q1 2019 report, in order to document the over $132 million of his own money he’s donated to his reelection bid since his 2018 election.

The cash-on-hand column was as of December 31, 2021.

McHenry County Blog has included A-1 filings since the first of the year, in order to fully capture all candidates’ latest fundraising. This also ensures the $90 million Governor Pritzker contributed to his own campaign is included in the tote board.

According to media reports, Aurora Mayor Richard Irvin’s first TV commercial advertising buy will be on the air tomorrow. To date, Irvin’s campaign has not filed an A-1 to determine the cost of the TV commercial ad buy.

  1. How has Schimpf spent over 300 k and how has Rabine spent over 1.1 million?

    What are they even doing?

I know Bailey has been driving around this enormous state in a gas guzzling bus for the last year eating nachos and cheeseburgers at bars and restaurants and that those expenses add up but what have Schimpf and Rabine been spending money on?

Another day with no “Sully” running mate announcement?

Between tomorrow and March 14th is just 49 days (including the start and end points).

What day are we taking our bets on him announcing he’s dropping out and endorsing Richard Irvin?

  2. Remember, both Schimpf and Bailey repurposed their respective committees from state senate (and for Bailey, state representative) to run for governor, so they had cash-on-hand left over from their previous electoral runs.

Also, debt in Bailey’s case, which is why I’m only tracking $150K of his overall debt to the governor race.

Irvin did not recycle his city of Aurora committee, but started an “Irvin for Illinois” political committee to run for governor.

  3. So if JP took in $135M and spent $28M how does he wind up with only 14M?

I think it should read $104M cash on hand.

  4. Yea, BecauseScience – John’s chart doesn’t make a lot of sense. The Cash on Hand is from 12/31/21, and doesn’t reflect the A-1s, but the chart doe a really poor job showing that.

The chart should have columns in this order:
    1 – Contributions through 12/31/21
    2 – Expenditures through 12/31/21
    3 – Cash on Hand on 12/31/21
4 – A-1’s since 12/31 (A-1’s are contributions over $1,000, which need to be reported within 5 days of cashing the check)
    5 (maybe) – CoH on 12/31/31 + A-1s since then

That would give a much clearer picture on what is happening.

Also, FWIW, I don’t find tracking loans to be very relevant, because typically they’re from the candidate and not paid back (especially not during the campaign cycle).

  5. BecauseScience, because the cash-on-hand column was as of 12/31/21, which was marked in the column.

The receipts, in Pritzker’s total, is after his 1/14/22 $90M contribution.

That is why Irvin’s cash-on-hand is zero, because I placed the A-1 of $1.2M under his receipts based on the A-1 filed on 1/24/22.

His committee wasn’t even formed until 1/18/22.

It was a risk to mix year-end expenses and cash-on-hand but beyond 12/31/21 for receipts, but I thought if I didn’t include the sizeable A-1s since the first of the year, the entire spreadsheet would be useless, given the amounts of money being raised/given in this race.

  6. Shake,

You’re right about the suggestions, and both our responses to BecauseScience were typed simultaneously.

I’ll replace the “CTD” with specific dates for expenses and receipts.

As you know, A-1s only require contributions, not expenses, so I can’t assume the expenses or the cash-on-hand amount from the A-1.

As for the loans, I think it’s relevant for the non-deep pocketed candidates to know how much money they have put into the race, otherwise the receipts column is inflated, since loans are a subset of receipts.

Also, I filtered out non-gubernatorial loans for Bailey and Schimpf, given they both repurposed their existing committees.

For Q1, I think I’ll add quarterly column totals.

  7. F.Sow at the trough …. gotta buy my way in mentality…

  8. Pritzer is a FAT SLOB.

Yet, he’s our overlord on health care.

How stupid are we? The wealthier, the more likely the Illinoisian bows obediently to this OAF Overlord. Highland Park, Lake Forest, the Gold Coast, Oak Brook, Glenview, Kenilworth, Darien, Hinsdale, ….. these are bastions of the sycophants.

  9. Correcting – I believe that #TeamGriffin wants to pretend that it is not #TeamGriffin, so they want to show that there are other millionaires/billionaires that also support Irvin before Kenny G goes all in.

  10. Don’t be fooled by Irvin, he’s a DEMOCRAT, it’s in his lying cowardly DNA
    just like Obama.

If he or anyone else says differently, then let’s hear him debate Dan Proft at WIND 560.

This should settle the matter once and for all.

Goofy Griffin should stay out of it and let
    Irvin fend for himself.

  11. HonestAbe1 brings up Obama.

Did y’all catch how Irvin tries to deflect the Democrat voting record?

He goes back, to 2005, when then-Senator Obama openly campaigned against Irvin in his first mayoral bid that year.

Irvin usually omits the 2005 reference so most people will think Obama worked against him in 2017 when he won the mayor’s office on his 2nd bid.

Something else Irvin will throw in, was in 2017, Irvin ran against Madigan-favored Linda Chapa-LaVia that year, who was I’m her 2nd decade as a state rep from Aurora.

Discerning voters, don’t be fooled by that claim, either.

  12. Correcting I agree with you on Bailey.

He was technically still working being paid by the taxpayer during the first years of covid and he was not helping families impacted but instead was driving around under the pretense of visiting businesses, filing lawsuits against the State which cost taxpayers plenty and we knew they would not go anywhere.

He was was really getting his name around northern Illinois while on the dime.

He was not writing ANY legislation or getting Bills passed.

The guys has done nothing but cost the taxpayer and campaigned while on the clock claiming other reasons.

  13. Irvin omits his dating of a pervert transvestite too.

I guess ‘pervert transvestite’ is a redundancy.
