Andrea Heeg

Latest Republican challenger to Congressman Foster lives in unincorporated Blackberry Township and owns a real estate business as video found where she discusses congressional bid last June

UPDATE 1/26/22 4:25PM CST: Adding picture and statement issued from her campaign Facebook page:

“My name is Andrea Heeg and I am running for US Congress for the 11th District of Illinois.

“I’ve lived within this district since 1996.

“We need principled conservatives in Washington, D.C.

“I will put hard working American taxpayers first and protect our way of life.

“As a mother of four, I know how critical education is and I will fight to end mandates that negatively impact out students.

“I support medical privacy and autonomy and believe that parents, not school boards and bureaucrats, should have the final say in our children’s educational experience.

“Join me and together we can build a future for our families and our children.”

======================

Early Wednesday afternoon, the latest Republican candidate in the new 11th Congressional District filed her Statement of Candidacy and Statement of Organization with the Federal Election Commission (FEC):

From California Target Book Twitter-BOT

According to McHenry County Blog initial trace, Ms. Heeg, 55, lives with her husband and 3 adult children at their home in unincorporated Blackberry Township, with a Geneva rural address.

Search of Illinois secretary of state website found a 6-years-old real estate business based out of their home.

With Heeg’s entry into the race, and previous adds/drops, the field of candidates is set at 4:

  • Jerry Evans of Warrenville
  • Andrea Heeg of Blackberry Township
  • Catalina Lauf of Woodstock
  • Cassandra Tanner Miller of Gilberts

Candidate Michael Pierce dropped out of the IL-11 race, and Dean Seppelfrick no longer found on FEC website.

As soon as any information is published about Heeg’s candidacy, McHenry County Blog will post it.

UPDATE 1/26/22 6:10PM CST: McHenry County Blog found video from a meeting in DuPage County of Amplify last June where Ms. Heeg gave a 7-minute update, revealing she first started considering running for Congress, originally in the IL-14, back in March.

Sharing her experiences with the Western Kane County Republican Organization (Blackberry Township is part) confirms her residence.

The video is very amateur by an attendee and the lighting difficult, but viewers can have their first glimpse of Ms. Heeg speaking, and why she is running for Congress over 7 months ago.

The video is cued for Ms. Heeg’s portion of the meeting.

  1. Foster has facial burns from negligent opening of a Jiffy Pop corn popper. Some scientist.

  2. Didn’t see this article before my last comment on your Jerry Evans story.

    haha woops!

Look forward to more info about Andrea Heeg though.

    Thanks for the update, John.

  3. With the small amount of info so far, Andrea should be more appealing to voters than Catalina.

  4. ** Andrea Heeg of Kane County to Challenge Bill Foster with Video**

    I challenge you… with a video!

  5. Shake, yeah I’m tired of emails I get that question the validity of someone filing FEC paperwork.

Yeah, you’ve got your Seppelfricks who file partially with FEC, and there are people questioning CTM as serious candidate, but finding 7-month-old video showing candidate actually saying she was going to run, is different.

What she said that day will be discussed later.

  6. Thank you, citizen copy editors, the titles have been updated.

  7. Ignore the literalists.

It’s clear what the headline means if you consider the context.

It could have used parenthesis but it’s fine without them too.

I wouldn’t question Miller or Heeg.

They both made formal announcements and they’re both listed on the FEC’s website.

Seppelfrick is not listed and given his history of saying he would run and then not running, it’s easy to question him.

Big disagree with bred winner. Can you actually defend that statement, bred winnner?

Because I could argue why you’re wrong.

    1. We know almost nothing about Heeg.
    2. Her statement reads like someone running for school board, not congress.
    3. We know Lauf can raise a lot of money; we don’t know that about Heeg.
    4. Being shocked and offended by the possibility of having to spend 3 million dollars in a congressional campaign like this one tells me this is a person who doesn’t know much about politics or doesn’t want to do what needs to be done.

Based on the little info about her that I have, there is no reason to assume she is better.

If your premise is that almost anybody is better than Lauf, then it would make sense why you have concluded what you have; if you’re being objective about the situation, no, it is not evident why Heeg is better.

One advantage Heeg does have is that she has raised a family.

She also might be starting with less negative baggage than Lauf.
