McHenry County’s Top Prosecutor Says Leadership Experience Matters in the Race for McHenry County Sheriff

McHenry County State’s Attorney Patrick Kenneally announced today he is endorsing experienced law
enforcement and business leader Tony Colatorti in the race for McHenry County Sheriff.

Tony Colatorte and Patrick Kenneally.

As the lead prosecutor in McHenry County on the front lines of keeping the county safe, Kenneally says his endorsement comes down to supporting the candidate who is ready to lead on day one.

“Tony Colatorti has the leadership and executive experience necessary to command our county’s top law
enforcement agency,” Kenneally said.

“Having served as police chief for two communities in his 22 years in law enforcement, and having owned a successful business for 25 years, Colatorti won’t need any on-the-job training—he’s ready to be sheriff on day one.”

Patrick Kenneally is a tough-on-crime prosecutor who is passionate about putting violent criminals behind bars.

For Kenneally, it’s simple: fewer violent criminals walking the streets means McHenry County residents are safer, and our area remains the best place to raise a family.

Kenneally is alarmed by Chicago-area politicians who increasingly demonstrate anti-public safety rhetoric while putting career criminals back on the streets, some of whom are then coming to McHenry County to commit crimes.

He knows Tony Colatorti will not cave to political pressure and says he “trusts Colatorti to provide the strong leadership McHenry County deserves from its sheriff.”

“[McHenry County State’s Attorney] Patrick Kenneally is exactly the kind of prosecutor hardened criminals fear,” Colatorti said after receiving the endorsement.

“When I’m sheriff, I will make it clear that Chicago crime and politics stop at the county line. Patrick Kenneally and I will work together to make sure McHenry County remains safe.”

About Tony Colatorti: Tony Colatorti a is law enforcement veteran of 22 years, serving as police chief in two McHenry County police departments. As chief of police, Colatorti introduced new tactics and innovations because he believes in an “all of the above” approach to fighting crime. His experience as a local police chief taught Colatorti the importance of smaller agencies working in close collaboration with the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office. As an entrepreneur and restaurateur who successfully led his small business through the global pandemic, Colatorti understands firsthand the challenges many local McHenry County small businesses face. As sheriff, Colatorti pledges “Chicago crime and politics stop at the county line.”

  1. Uh-oh!!!!!

Virtually all negative commenters regarding Kenneally here sing the praises of Coltatori.

    Heads are exploding! 😆

    ✌️😎

  2. Not good.

I strongly support Robb Tadelman and believe that Robb’s got the experience to get the job done in a fair and balanced manner.

  3. Tony Colatori has my support/vote. I don’t support/vote for insiders. Go Tony!

  4. Colatori has my vote….but Kenneally’s endorsement is a negative.

Mellow Monk, you’re right. I’m one.

But, Tadelman’s close association with Nygren, Linder, Lowery, and Franks – all pals – Make Tadelman impossible for me to vote for.

  5. Let me tell you folks something.

Yes, I do support Colatorti, and yet I despise the faker called Kenneally.

Kenneallybird could have waited out the primary and backed the winner.

Or he could have waited a few weeks, in case something happened in the interim as a gamechanger.

    But he didn’t.

Kenneally’s first and only focus: What’s best for Kenneally.

He sniffed the wind. He realized Colatorti would win. He also heard that something very problematic would be released on the Tadelwipe.

And not something as small as the Hanlon sign caper that Tadelman “knew nothing about”. [yeah, sure]

So he had to get in on the grift as fast as he could.

“I backed you early on Tony.”

  6. Tony working for PART TIME departments??

Running restaurants at the same time?

Were there 2 or 3 at the same time??

How does one do all of that?

    What took priority?

    Need a sheriff NOT pasta.

Give me the real qualifications of a full time 18 year veteran.

    Tadelman

  7. Good for Colatorti!

    That a serious endorsement.

Judging by Tadelman’s endorsements (aka Bill Prim’s handpicked good ole boy endorsements) nobody serious in McHenry County trusts that joker to be the sheriff.

  8. May have seemed like an ill wind to him, but was probably just a fart.

    ✌️😎

  9. I was undecided but if Bob Anderson supports Tony it makes me question things.

    Bob you suck.

Nobody gives a rip what you believe.

    You are sir are crap.

  10. I’m voting for Colatorti too. I have nothing against ‘insiders’ but the other campaign isn’t running a clean campaign. If you expose something necessary for the voters to know that’s different. They are just out to smear a good man because they know Colatorti has a lot of the right stuff, like accountability as chief in two towns, 22 yrs of law enforcement experience, developing the canine unit and being one that was responsible for budget, employees, payroll, leadership, community respect. Colatorti is also running an impeccable campaign and seems beyond reproach.

  11. Tony Colatori is the best of the two. He will trim the fat so to speak, that is business 101.

  12. YO, Keanelly,

How did you get the job???

Now you are calling them “good ole boys”???
