Tammy Duckworth & Other Senate Democrats Put Themselves in the Spotlight with Extremist Abortion Vote

With the U.S. Supreme Court considering a case that may greatly modify Roe v. Wade and Doe v. Bolton, it is highly likely that Democrats will try to make abortion the main issue.

One does not need special insight.

As Guy Benson wrote about action in Washington yesterday:

Senate Democrats, with the exception of Manchin, just voted unanimously for a (failed) bill that would impose abortion-on-demand through all 9 months of pregnancy as the national law. It’s gruesome and radical stuff. The vulnerable 2022 incumbents supported it (Twitter).

Certainly, the Dems will be doing their best to deflect attention from the rampant inflation caused by rolling the printing presses since President Joe Biden took office and it doesn’t look as if Biden’s handling of foreign affairs will be a marquee issue.

That leaves abortion to be the snowplow blade to push away the bad news issues.

The Democrats United States Senatc candidate in Illinos is Tammy Duckworth.

Duckworth has been considered unbeatable, reporting almost $6.5 million in the bank at the end of December.

She haa been considerd so invulnerable that thus far only Bobby Pitton reported having raised enough money–$85,000–to run for State Representative.

None of the Republican primary candidates who have announced, while many being compatible with views of conservative Republicans, have shown any ability to raise money to be competitive against Duckworth.

With Kathy Salvi circulating petitions for the U.S. Senate to run against Tammy Duckworth, Republicans have an actual chance of an upset win.

She and her husband Al are successful trial lawyers.

Kathy Salvi’s United States Senate Petition. 3,250 to 6,500 signatures are required. That is a lot of signatures.

Duckworth’s vote to allow abortion up to the day before birth yesterday is not a new position for her.

In her 2012 campaign against Congressman Joe Walsh, Duckworth revealed this extremist position on abortion:

“In an email to the Chicago Tribune, Duckworth said she did ‘not support any restrictions on a woman’s right to choose or her access to safe, affordable reproductive health services.‘”

That appeard in the print version of the Tribune and mirrors her vote yesterday.

Tammy Duckworth & Other Senate Democrats Put Themselves in the Spotlight with Extremist Abortion Vote — 19 Comments

  1. Somebody should ask Duckworth on live tv if she would be OK if her mother had aborted her.

  2. Concerning two of the not-voting, Senator Feinstein’s husband passed away over the weekend, which is why she wasn’t voting in DC yesterday.

Senator Inhofe tested positive for COVID, which was why he wasn’t voting.

Don’t know about Kennedy, Lujan, Paul and Warnock, but with Senator Manchin voting with Republicans, the Democrats don’t have 50 votes, let alone 60, to pass this abomination of legislation H.R. 3755. It’s dead!

  3. It would be easier to get the signatures if people didn’t find out about her until yesterday.

Petitions are due in 13 days!

What am I supposed to make of a candidate who waits that long to announce they’re running?

The same applies to Mark Carroll who recently announced he’s running for the House.

Thomas DeVore who is running for IL AG also waited a long time before announcing, but he at least has many volunteers and they’ve been busy this last week.

Early voting for the primary starts in 79 days.

The primary is in 119 days.

  4. Cal you’re dismissing Piton, a financial guy, to push Salvi, a trial lawyer, to go to DC?

Look at how lawyers have ruined this country from their perches in DC.

    I’ll pass on Salvi.

What we need in DC is people with financial smarts and analytical skills not more double-talking lawyers.

I have been collecting signatures for Piton.

You know the guy who will only serve 1 term and not draw a pension after doing so.

Salvi looks like another RINO in the making, just like Mark Kirk, that wants to go to DC and grow roots not solve problems.

We’ll see who the voting machines are programmed to anoint.

  5. If you think Kathy Salvi is a RINO, you know nothing about her.

Tell me how Bobby Pinton, with less than $100,000 in the bank, is going to defeat Tammy Duckworth’s $6.5 million.

  6. I have missed only one election in 42 years, JTq, including all primaries and local elections.

    ✌️😎

  7. Somebody should ask Duckworth if she panic called in an air strike on her own mechanically-downed chopper.

  8. Cal, Salvi’s husband shot himself in the head when he called for gun control. Don’t trust a Salvi is my motto.

  9. Cal I never claimed to be a political savant. I know lawyers lie for a living. You are acquainted with them as Lopez posted. I am as well. I would rather vote for a finance guy with 100k rather than another grifter that joins the race in the final laps to pad their bank account.

So, Cal you are pushing a lawyer on your readers based on the tried and true pro-Life vs. pro-Abortion debate? At the same time you ignore the cheating that the psy op’d masses think never happened in 2020? That’s rich. I’m done with the false flag argument used over and over to get fools elected. Pro-Life vs Pro-Choice.

Show me how this lawyer is not a RINO since you are digging your heals in on this one. And please don’t use her husband’s voting record to support your position. It’s going to be a hard sell. A trial lawyer. Got it.

fyi…I’m open to your position. I will still notarize and submit my petitions for Bobby Q Piton as the Monk fool posts.

  10. I’m not saying Pinton should not be on the ballot.

I think, however, he has no chance to beat Duckworth.

If you do, let me know how he finances his campaign.

  11. Kathy Salvi has the potential to infuse significant money into her U.S. Senate campaign, in her own name.

Then shift to some of her high profile friends like former Senator Santorum, for starters.

Then, her husband Al Salvi, through his contacts, including the Notre Dame Alumni Network (remember what that did for fundraising for Ted Gradel in 2019-2020?) can be of help (Kathy is a graduate of Loyola of Chicago).

Lot of Notre Dame alums serving in Congress right now, starting with Congressman Pat Fallon of Texas, among others.

Let Salvi and Bobby Piton of Geneva have a primary debate/fight.

While Piton has his strengths, he is also, and unfairly been tagged as QAnon, which can hurt him, including fundraising.

  12. Wow Lopez. Good intel.

Kathy and I are alumni of the same college.

I hope she took classes with Tony Pinelli in law school.

I agree, let them fight it out in the primary.

QAnon is a joke and you keep bringing that phrase up which brings a smile to my face every time.

No offense meant but QAnon does not exist.

For a smart guy I really wish you would dig into why I say that.

And Cal, Piton finances his campaign through people like me making donations.

He has no chance of beating Duckworth because of the machines and voter rolls you refuse to believe are corrupt.

I would love to watch Salvi explain that concept to Piton on a debate stage with the receipts Piton possesses.

She won’t have a chance other than the tried and true he’s QAnon.

Do you trust Salvi more than the scapegoat LTG Michael Flynn who is endorsing Bobby?

    Huh.

    Who’s endorsing Salvi?

I can’t wait for the cockroaches to start throwing money her way just like Irvin in the governor’s race.

And Lopez, being an alum of a Jesuit school is not all it’s cracked up to be if you do a little research on the Jesuits involvement in our world.

    I’ll leave you with that.

Be a man for others was the mantra.

How’d that work out for Father Foley in Wilmette?
