From the Harvard Police Department:

AGGRAVATED BATTERY/MOB ACTION/UNAUTHORIZED POSSESION OF A WEAPON

On 02-28-22 at 0011 hrs, Police responded to the 1500 blk 9th St regarding a disturbance.

Upon arrival Officers located a Harvard Resident (m-20 yoa), with a laceration to his head.

It was reported a group of unknown males approached the victim after a traffic altercation and he was struck in the
head with an unknown type object.

The offenders fled the area in two unknown vehicles.

The victim was transported to the hospital, treated and later released.

Upon completion of the investigation two males were subsequently arrested and charged.

A Harvard Juvenile (m-17 yoa) was charged with

• one count of aggravated battery (felony),
• Mob action (felony), and
• unauthorized possession of a weapon (misdemeanor).

The juvenile was detained in the juvenile detention center pending a court date.

The second suspect, identified as Johnathan Aquino (m-18 yoa), 305 S. Ayer St., was charged with

• aggravated battery (felony),
• mob action (felony),
• leaving the scene of a property damage accident (misdemeanor),
• failure to notify police of property damage accident (misdemeanor), and
• criminal damage to property over $500 (felony).

Aquino was able to post the $2000 bond and was released with a court date of 03-29-2022 at 0900 hrs. at the court house.

AGGRAVATED BATTERY TO MEDIC

On 03-20-22 Steven N. Salzman (m-58 yoa), 433 S. Forest, Arlington Heights, was arrested and charged with aggravated battery to a paramedic after he allegedly punched a paramedic in the chest while getting medical care at the Harvard Mercy Hospital.

Salzman was transported to the County Jail in lieu of bond.
