Darren Bailey Releases New Campaign Video

Darren Bailey

Basking in winning the top-of-the-ballot lottery Wednesday, Bailey’s video released today shows points he’ll focus as campaign finance deadline for 1st quarter a week away

State Senator Darren Bailey (R, Xenia), who will be listed at the top of the Republican primary ballot with his running mate Stephanie Trussell (R, Lisle), released a new video as the campaign enters the final week for 1st quarter fundraising.

The video is below:

Looks like many of the shots in the nearly minute and a half video will be input into 30-second TV commercials at separate times over the next 3 months.

What do you think of the new video, and the points brought up on the video?

Please keep the comments for this article focused on Senator Bailey’s video.

  1. Ah (am)….fighting for yew! 👍

I like it, I think he comes off well. I admit to a reflexive eye-roll with the gun thing, mostly because it’s an eternal campaign set-piece, although with a nice twist with the printed budget as the target. Also in his favor, he’s an obviously competent gun owner.

What would be the expected liberal commercial set-piece for JB?

    Bialy’s my #1 choice so far. ✌️😎

  2. If Darren Bailey is about BOLD & COURAGEOUS LEADERSHIP (fighting for us), why not a word on reducing the size and cost of Illinois’ nation leading 8,925 units of local government?

  3. It was a really good ad and the number 1 ballot spot was great news for him as was the announcement that Dick Uihlein is giving money to him.

I think Dan Proft has a PAC that is helping Bailey too?

I’m not crazy about Bailey because he’s going to lose badly (also think any candidate would lose badly but some might not by as much), however, at this point am probably *most worried about Ken Griffin buying the nomination of Richard Irvin so I may have to vote for Bailey since it seems like it will be Bailey or Irvin.

None of the other guys have a chance of winning the primary.

I would just hate for Irvin to be nominee and am disgusted by Ken Griffin.

You should check out that story on The Illinoize website about Griffin’s people allegedly bullying politicians with threats of funding primary challengers, trying to buy off endorsements, and other sketchy behavior.

Patrick Phingsten is the only person I’ve seen cover it and it deserves more attention.

As much as people call Sullivan the “Rauner redux” because he’s a wealthy businessman who is being dishonest about how conservative he is, I still see Irvin’s campaign as more of the “Rauner redux” since it has institutional backing, it has the most money (Sullivan has a ton too though not as much), Irvin is a liar/waffler/flip flopper (true of Sullivan as well), and Rauner staffers are said to be working for Irvin.

Rauner was known for those heavy handed, almost mafia like tactics.

The story was published within the past week or so.

  4. Rauner staffers were known political prostitutes.

Bailey’s is polling at #1 that’s the only reason Irvin and griffin’s money went after him…and they lied. They’ve backed off since Bailey came out and addressed their lies.

Proft endorses Bailey! So does Ives! He’s clearly the most pro-life, 2A, anti-establishment, Christian candidate and a realist. He’s smoking the others so far. Irvin will rise in polls because money and intimidation works on some people. But Bailey will be the Republican nominee.
