  1. That Milwaukee Ave corridor is rich in grift potential for an upstanding politician. It’s also home to the best burrito joints in IL – LA Pasadita and the cousin owned Las Asadas. Steak Onion Cilantro and Hot Sauce for me. Cheese is your choice.

  2. I think the green corridor shaped district that is the subject of this post is on Grand, and Milwaukee is the diagonal road further to the east (going through Logan Square).

  3. Correcting is correct. The ward runs along Grand, not Milwaukee.

  4. Hi Goldie – thanks for adding something to the discussion. Nothing of value, of course, but I still appreciate your additions, and I personally especially appreciate you obsessing with me. Keep it up!

  5. Per WIKI:

“The term gerrymandering is named after American politician Elbridge Gerry,[a][6] Vice President of the United States at the time of his death, who, as Governor of Massachusetts in 1812, signed a bill that created a partisan district in the Boston area that was compared to the shape of a mythological salamander. The term has negative connotations and gerrymandering is almost always considered a corruption of the democratic process. The resulting district is known as a gerrymander (/ˈdʒɛriˌmændər, ˈɡɛri-/). The word is also a verb for the process.[7][8]”

    Per Urban Dictionary:

    “Mandering

Similar to wandering, but in a more absurd way. This can sometimes be classified as a condition—and happens to people who regulary pace back and forth in a room while engaging in a conversation with themselves and/or another individual. One who is wandering will be in a conversation with a group, but then with no hesitation will be (sometimes seen) in another group of random people either causing a comedic scene or escalating situation. Those who engage in mandering try to never cause harm, but just aimlessly walk into scenarios in a leisure manner with no fear of any consequences that may arise. They may get lost and not recollect where they had dissapeared off especially under a high level of intoxication.”
