My son was at Good Shepherd Hospital with double pneunomia, so I didn’t make the Republican cookout in Huntley Sunday.

I don’t know how many came.
I was waiting on people, refilling food/drinks.
Sheriff’s Dept Jailer, Jim Udesen and Michael Jennings from Woodstock did the grilling.
All candidates were very pleased so I guess it went well.
It was an Open Pavillion for three hours so people came and went.
We were never mobbed.
Two families brought their dogs.
There was a P.A. system but Candidates liked the one-on-one talks with attendees rather than speeches.
We had music, a kids bouncy house, balloons, and a cook-out overlooking the pond.
It was a Beautiful Day!
McGOPac’s Young Conservative, Brett Corrigan, came to represent Darren Bailey.
People came from Huntley, Hebron, Richmond, Woodstock, Crystal Lake and Lake in the Hills, Algonquin. (that I know of).
Candidates and/or surrogates for candidates were:
- Joe Tirio, County Clerk
- Tony Colatorti for Sheriff
- IL Sen. Dave Syverson
- Eric Hendricks for County Board Dist 3
- Bob Reining for County Board Dist 3
- Brett Corrigan for Darren Bailey for Governor

This event has the potential of turning into something similar to the Dundee Township Republican Party picnic I attended last September 15th after the Johnsburg Saufen und Speil Parade.
The major differences were Grafton Township’s was free, while the Dundee GOP charged $10 for adults, and Dundee’s picnic was more heavily attended.
But, I would guess that last September’s was not the first Dundee Township Republican Picnic and Sunday’s had not been held before in Huntley.
Did Tadelman and Irvin get banned because they weren’t Republicans?
