Helmetless Teenage Johnsburg Boy Falls from Minibike on Head

From the Sheriff’s Department:

Minibike Crash

On June 11, 2022, at 9:46 p.m.., McHenry County Sheriff’s Office, Johnsburg Police Department, and McHenry Township Fire Protection District responded to the 800 block of Finch Trail, in unincorporated McHenry, for a minibike crash.

Preliminary investigation indicated that a 2021 Coleman minibike, ridden by a 16-year-old juvenile male, was riding on the street at that location.

For unknown reasons the juvenile lost control of the minibike and fell onto the road striking his head.

The juvenile wasn’t wearing a helmet and was airlifted to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville for non-life-
threatening injuries.

The juvenile was issued a citation for operating a non-highway vehicle on the roadway.

The investigation is ongoing by McHenry County Sheriff’s Office Major Crash Investigation Unit.
