  1. Is Red Tail a good course?

    Excellent?

    Or what?

What do golfers who frequent various courses say about it?

Played lots of golf for years many years ago.

Our foursomes always walked the course.

Some of us even carried our own bag of clubs rather than using a cart.

PGA requires its golfers to walk the course.

    Fine.

Would like to see them also require the golfers to carry their own bags and NOT have a caddy/coach advise them.

Let each golfer do it on their own.

    How would they fare?

  2. So many questions BW:

Yes, Redtail is a good course.

The courses that are used for qualifying rounds are all good courses.

The greens have always been true and have always rolled very well for a public course.

    That answers the first four.

I have walked, carried my own bag, carried two bags when I caddied, pushed a hand cart and now I ride – rarely walk.

It’s a pace of play thing.

Yes, the PGA requires the pros to walk.

These guys will also be walking.

They will either be carrying their own bags or possibly some, not all, might have caddies.

They don’t really listen to the caddies.

They know what club and how they are hitting it as soon as they see their lie.

The caddies are just there for conversation and to clean their ball.

my guess is that they would fare a whole heck of a lot better than either you or me.

  3. and BTW this isn’t THE US Amateur but a private org hosting a tourney at RT..
