Cary Police Department releases Fourth of July enforcement numbers

(Cary, Illinois) – The Cary Police Department made 0 impaired driving arrests and issued 9 speeding tickets during the recent Fourth of July “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” and “Click It or Ticket” safety campaigns.

The Cary Police Department joined forces with more than 200 other state and local law enforcement agencies to get drunk and drugged drivers off our roads, encourage seat belt use, and enforce speeding nd other traffic laws.

The effort featured high-visibility enforcement combined with a variety of outreach activities, including the Illinois Department of Transportation’s new media campaign: “It’s Not a Game.”

The enforcement period was funded by federal traffic safety funds administered by IDOT as part of the statewide “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” and “Click It or Ticket” programs.

  1. Glad they enforced something around here–certainly isnt fireworks ordinance.

    Man, its a war zone here some nights—right in the middle of streets, or the ever popular, along the power lines local shows, or unincorporated area River Rats blowing them well near dawn.

    Residents are brazen because cops do nothing about it, Cary or County.

    Cant beat em’ join em is now my motto.

    BOOM.

    Dont stop at first stand in Indiana, second or third usually cheaper.
