27 Fire Departments Answer Call for Assistance from McHenry Township Fire Protection District for 10,000 Square Foot Lakemoor House Fire

From the McHenry Township Fire Protection District:

2000 block of Cuhlman Rd in Lakemoor.

August 5, 2022 at 1:25 pm the McHenry Township Fire Protection District (MTFPD) was dispatched to the 2000 block of Cuhlman Rd in Lakemoor for a report of a building on fire.

MTFPD arrived at 1:30pm to find a very large 3 story house with fire coming from the attached garage traveling up the wood shaker shingle roof and into the third floor.

MTFPD began extinguishing the fire while the 10,000 square foot residence was searched.

It was determined that all occupants had exited.

MTFPD requested mutual aid using the Mutual Aid Box Alarm System (MABAS) to bring in several other departments.

The fire was difficult to extinguish do to several factors, including the size of the residence, the heat and humidity, and that there were no fire hydrants.

MTFPD received assistance from the following departments either at the fire or covering MTFPD stations.

Crystal Lake FD, Cary FPD, Lake Villa FPD, Round Lake FPD, Spring Grove FPD, Fox Lake FPD, Woodstock FPD, Wonder Lake FPD, Richmond FPD, Wauconda FPD, Nunda FPD, Huntley FPD, Marengo FPD, Fox River Grove FPD, Hebron FPD, Grayslake FPD, Harvard FPD, Twin Lakes FPD, Mundelein FD, Lake Zurich FPD, Union FPD, Randal Wisconsin FPD, Beach Park FPD, South Elgin FPD, East Dundee FPD, Carpentersville FPD, and West Dundee FPD.
