Woodstock Police Cite Three Establishments for Selling Alcohol to Minors

From Woodstock Police Chief John Lieb:

ALCOHOL COMPLIANCE CHECKS

On Thursday, August 11th, 2022, the Woodstock Police Department conducted alcohol sales compliance checks on establishments that hold liquor licenses within the City of Woodstock.

Of the 23 establishments checked, three were found to be in violation and served alcohol to persons under the age of twenty-one years old. The establishments found not to be compliant were as follows:

• Main Street PourHouse, 214 Main Street
• La Placita Taqueria, 108 Cass Street
• Rosati’s of Woodstock, 1652 South Eastwood Drive

The store employees who served the alcohol products to the minors in the aforementioned establishments were issued a City of Woodstock Municipal Code Violation Citation.

The Illinois State Police Alcohol Countermeasure Enforcement (ACE) Team assisted with this compliance check.

Compliance checks are performed by the Woodstock Police Department to determine if local liquor license holders are complying with state and local alcohol laws, which prohibit the sale, purchase and acceptance of alcohol to persons under the age of 21.

The City of Woodstock educates local alcohol retailers on minimum-age alcohol laws and the importance of verifying the age of customers before selling age-restrictive products such as alcohol.

  1. This stuff bothers me so much.

These establishments are TAXED into oblivion so that police can retire at 54 with full pension.

As a result, the state is an economic dumpster fire.

Tonight my family is having a dinner table discussion on leaving Illinois – the taxes are prohibitively expensive for us to live here.

Illinois is rapidly draining what little wealth we’ve saved over 40 decades.

So what do our men in blue do?

TARGET the very businesses that pay their salaries.

    I’m sick of this.

In Illinois the good people are targeted and the bad people are treated with kid gloves.
Police Departments aren’t servants of the community, they are armed government political hacks.

  2. Don’t forget the ridiculous .10 cent per bag tax in Woodstock.

  3. Yet the homo and transvestite prance around freely.

  4. Instead of this small business harassment, Constable Lieb should be searching those corn cribs for copies of Captain Billy’s Whiz Bang and other such corruptions of youth.

    Shipoopi.

  5. DJ: cute reference to the Music Man….but this is a serious problem

    Lieb is a dweeb.

He should be on his hands and knees thanking these establishments for what the provide the community and his bloated pension fund – no sending 20.5 year old young women to minimum wage workers at the counter who are fulfilling a million other state regulations in order to trap the establishments.

    What a joke.

Lieb should be punished for ordering these “raids”….not rewarded for killing the golden goose (they’re fewer and fewer of them, have you noticed?)

  6. DJ…1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8 pockets to place a ball.

Just like the Music Man, our local Police Departments have become fraudsters – destroying their own fine citizenry at their own demise.

Someone has to pay taxes for Lieb to retire and receive $2.5 million over 30 years.

He’s destroying those taxed based businesses with near 21 year old hot just under age girls to get minimum wage workers to error.

And by doing that, Lieb is considered doing his job.

I’d go after drug cartels and murderers, not Mexican restaurants who might occasionally give an underage person a beer.

    Give me a break.

    Lieb is a LOSER.
