Happy with what the mayor and city council doing concerning the approval of this TIF and/or other issues?
The mayor and some members of the city council will be up for election on April 4, 2023.
Serious candidates need to be deciding if they will run now.
Because Crystal Lake uses the nonpartisan election law to elect its mayor and city council, the 1st day to circulate Crystal Lake mayor and city council nominating petitions is August 30.
That’s a week from today!
Candidate filings for the city of Crystal Lake elections is November 21-28, 2022.
If at least 4 candidates file to run for Cryatal Lake mayor, the top-2 nonpartisan primary election will take place February 28, 2023.
If there is no primary election, all candidates will be on the April 4, 2023, local election ballot.
Will anyone be allowed to challenge for Mayor or Council and not be pushed off the ballot?

Well, now is the time to organize in order to get the “piece of” you referred to out-of-office.
Circulation for Crystal Lake city council positions, including the mayor, begins August 30.
If you have candidates for mayor and city council, and assuming they’re serious candidates, now’s the time to get organized.
You can’t wait until after November 8.
Now is the time to do something, not talk about doing something.
And if the candidates are really serious, maybe they should enroll in the Ted Spella Leadership School in Algonquin, which is open to all including non-Algonquin residents to learn how to govern, when they win.

If not, the incumbents will challenge and use that to take you off the ballot.
