Bill Foster Rolls Out First TV Ad — 23 Comments

  1. Out of the hospital and done with Chemotherapy, with his limited time on this earth, Bill is trying his best to make it seem he’ll survive the next term.

It’s time for new, healthy, and vibrant blood – blood that is not tainted by failed policies or severe illness.

  2. Chemo never makes you more photogenic.

Time to shuffle off this mortal coil, Bill, and play with your Jewish controllers in Hell.

  3. It’s a good commercial and it undercuts Lauf’s already flimsy claim of being an entrepreneur since it shows Foster building a factory.

When the heck are Foster and Lauf debating?

And when is Lauf going to air commercials?

  4. Correcting,

Agreed on your observation about the commercial.

Something Foster didn’t make clear is he no longer has ownership interest, since he sold his share of the company back in 2007, before his first run for Congress.

Last Tuesday, Foster’s campaign tweeted he had accepted to debate Lauf at an LWVIL sponsored event.

Given Lauf is on record she will not participate with any League of Women Voters events, she has not confirmed if she’ll participate.

Lauf has an event tomorrow afternoon in Hampshire, so if anyone going to that event, maybe they’ll find out if Lauf has accepted the LWV event, or any other campaign forum with Foster.

I see CLM still trying to rumormonger about Foster and cancer.

  5. There’s been a Republican boycott of the League of Women Liberals forums!

They are not non-partisan, they are not bi-partisan.

Their FB page is full of LGBTQ crap, Climate control and the right to kill your kid etc.

The Republicans are sick of them posing as neutral when they know the LWV is ANYTHING BUT!!!

The only Republican I know that’s participating is Gottemoller.

Lauf should follow suit and boycott these Communists.

  6. G-man said:

“There’s been a Republican boycott of the League of Women Liberals forums!”

    Really? A Republican boycott?

I guess freshman state Representative Marty McLaughlin didn’t get that “boycott” memo, as he’s confirmed to be participating in a ZOOM forum hosted by the League of Women Voters, Palatine chapter Monday night.

As far as Lauf and the LWVIL debate Congressman Foster accepted, if you’re Lauf, and her underfunded campaign, and the LWV forum is the only one to share the stage with her opponent, should she accept the invite?

Time to see how tough Lauf really is.

Personally, I hope she does accept, because given how feisty Foster has been lately, he will box Lauf’s ears in a debate.

And I’m still keeping to my prediction Foster wins the election with at least 55% of the vote.

  7. G-man is right.

LWV is a partisan sham that supports using abortion as contraception. Its disgusting.

But I would’ve liked to hear Lauf stand up for the unborn against Foster.

But maybe she wouldn’t have even done that now that she’s hiding any mention of the right to life on her website or campaign handouts.

    I’m concerned.

  8. Foster is an old DOLT.

He’s an idiot, a woke liberal, and a failure.

On top of that he’s dying and receiving chemotherapy for an apparent devastating cancer.

Lauf is young, smart, aggressive, energetic, thoughtful, and she is attractive and a Latina.

Foster is an old fart, he barely can speak, he’s energy-LESS, and he just finished chemo – AND ALL HIS POSITIONS ON THIS ISSUES ARE DEAD WRONG.

He’s like Nancy Pelosi – but Foster is closer to death than Pelosi is.

  9. OK CLM, where is Congressman Bill Foster allegedly receiving these chemotherapy treatments?

  10. ^It’s a strange attack that I haven’t heard anywhere else except by commenters on this blog who, as usual, don’t have any evidence and which is hardly the slam dunk argument they think it is.

    “Hey, this guy had chemotherapy.”

    “Really?”

“Yeah, now don’t you want to vote against him?”

It doesn’t make a lot of sense.

You could go after Foster for pushing digital ID or for being a Pelosi rubber stamp or just being in congress too long.

Why the rumors that he had cancer?

    It’s weird.

John McCain not that I was a big fan of but his popularity went up after he was diagnosed with cancer.

Another thing I do not understand is why you, John Lopez, are so harsh on Catalina Lauf.

From your perspective how in the world do you figure Lauf would not be a step up from Foster? (I read your articles on IFA.)

Even if she is not your ideal candidate, isn’t she closer to your beliefs than Foster is?

btw Deering has commercials out now and last I checked she was much worse at raising money than Lauf (though probably doesn’t have the atrocious burn rate).

Those ads in the 11th need to go up ASAP.

    Early voting begins tomorrow.

Foster might not be winning by 10 like you say but based on the current conditions he’d win.

  11. Lauf would not be a step up from anything.

Lauf is a bubblehead who has nothing to offer other than right wing talking points and empty rhetoric.

Some have speculated that Lauf is only using this campaign (as it were) to attain position within Fox, Newsmax, or some other right wing outlet.

She obviously has no business in the Congress.

Lauf is underfunded, to be sure, but it doesn’t matter.

Foster by 50-60% of the vote.

If Lauf had any sense at all, she would move to Colorado and challenge that imbecile Lauren Boebert.

Now that would be interesting, perhaps even entertaining.

  12. Correcting, I’m not harsh on Catalina Lauf, I’m just honest.

    Since winning the primary:
    – Lauf abandoned her stance on abortion and the Second Amendment and stripped them from her campaign website
    – In campaign appeals, she claims to be a Christian, pro-life conservative in spite of the removal of plank from website
    – She did not submit responses to the NRA Political Victory Fund or the Illinois Family Institute for their voter guides which resulted in Lauf not being endorsed, or recommended by the governing board of Illinois Family Action (I’m a freelance writer, and have no input on board decisions)
    – Starting in late August, Lauf began sexualizing her campaign again after toning down using her looks and dressing modestly from winning the primary until August particularly with out-of-state digital fundraising and email appeals (that article will be published, soon)
    – As E R Murrow points out, Lauf’s campaign got away from issues and now talking points and empty rhetoric

If anything, I’ve been too kind to Lauf. As far as Foster’s expected margin of victory, I stand by it, as I’ve seen nothing to change my mind she’ll do better then 45% of the vote.

Since you read my IFA articles, you may notice I cited Lauf in my latest Amendment 1 article, from January 2021 tweets, which was a time I really thought Lauf had turned the corner to be a solid candidate to possibly win a general over a Democrat (unknown it would have been Foster until late October). By August of 2021, I knew the truth.

As for E R Murrow conjecture about Fox/Newsmax position, Lauf is physically not tall enough for such a role, so that is likely not her next career move.

After Lauf’s certain defeat on November 8, I pray she’ll take 2 to 3 election cycles off, live life and be a successful businessperson and build a record in-her-own-name (not from her family). Whether she stays working for her sister is up to her, but Lauf needs to build a record in her own name, and she simply doesn’t have one.

She had enough name ID to win a primary over 5 underfunded opponents by blowing $1.4 million and attaining only 31% of the primary vote. That’s clearly come back to haunt her for the general.

  13. ^ But you don’t write articles for right-wing blogs and you are probably not a Republican at all, Murrow.

I understand why people don’t like Lauf but am trying to figure out why John, who has at least some influence in right-of-center circles, is attacking Lauf during a *general* election so much. What is the rationale, if you are a Republican, to not prefer Lauf in this race?

We know John was tough on her during the primary but figured he would probably slowly come around to her in the general election.

A lot of readers here plus journalists and bloggers are scratching their heads about this.

What I’m posing is kind of a lesser of two evils argument.

John thinks Lauf is not socially conservative enough.

SD73 and Murrow, wouldn’t Lauf at least be less socially liberal than Bill Foster is?

Who would be the more pro-choice candidate between Lauf and Foster?

Murrow, could you imagine if there were a liberal blogger who did not support Foster and even regularly attacked him?

That is what my question in the last post was getting at.

  14. Joe Biden has dementia.
Fettermann has had a stroke and has an enormous growth on his neck requiring special clothing to cover it up.

Sure, people, health issues don’t matter.

  15. Political affiliations are not necessarily the issue, rather, qualification and integrity.

Lauf has neither, and is sorely lacking in other areas.

It would be pointless to write out an epic screed here, but suffice it to say that Lauf has all the earmarks of an opportunist.

After she is thumped by Foster, any educated person could surmise that Lauf will simply target another district.

    The 14th and 11th didn’t work out — why not try the 10th? Or the 13th? doesn’t matter — a district is a district is a district.

Some background here: no, I am not republican.

Have been in this district going back to the days of Judy Biggert.

Have seen it drawn and redrawn several times.
Have met and spoke w/ Mr. Foster when he ran against Biggert in 2012.

Not certain about Lauf’s motivation concerning political office, however, it appears to be geared toward gathering attention — perhaps with another (future) goal in mind.

For those of you who may not be familiar with true journalism, take a closer look at the name used.

(Edward R Murrow) A real journalist. A real newsman. Tough, smart and able to take on the most despicable of political villains. We need that in todays’ world.

It’s my belief that were Murrow to see what has happened to American politics and the reporting of it —

    well, he’d probably puke.

  16. Thanks for the polite answer, Murrow. I’d still like to get a response from John if he sees this thread.
    ——————–

“Sure, people, health issues don’t matter.”

Bill Foster goes out in public and is on TV (C-SPAN channels) during House committee hearings. He looks about the same as he’s looked for the past several years.

If Lauf wants to avoid talking about issues, avoid debates, avoid running commercials, and simply wants to meet with her base and have surrogates say “Bill has cancer” on a low traffic blog maybe it will work for her but I have my doubts.

What we have here are rumors, speculation. Fetterman and Biden have health issues which you can clearly see. Anybody can. It’s undeniable. And these are things that actually get into national news stories. Where is Foster’s health coming up other than this blog’s comment section?
    ——————-

Going back to Murrow’s 1:23 comment, I do not share the belief of many that Lauf is a “district hopper.”

She ran in the 14th where she lived last time around.

The lines were redrawn and now she is running in the 11th which is where she lives now that the districts’ borders have changed.

Yes, she briefly was running in the 16th last year before the new maps were completed, but that was for a cause that many Republican voters are sympathetic towards which was getting Kinzinger out of congress.

Once it became known that Kinzinger was not running for re-election she simply decided to run for congress in her home district, the new 11th.

  17. Oops my last comment not published yet referred to CLM’s 1:23 comment and Murrow’s 4:54 comment.

  18. Foster not only no longer owns the business he boldly discusses in his mis-leading TV ad.

He also doesn’t say that the business is not in Illinois and never was.

    It is in Middleton Wisconsin.

No benefit to the people of Illinois.
