Democrat State Rep. Candidate Peter Janko Working Huntley Door-to-Door

Below is what Democrat Janko is handing out in small plastic bags.

The first piece goes further than Springfield Democrats have been willing to go.

While Governor JB Pritzker and his General Assembly allies lifted the sales tax on food for a year, Janko is calling for its abolition.

Marengo’s Janko is running against Rockford Republican incumbent Joe Sosnowski. The Republican reported much more money in the bank in his third quarterly report than Janko.

$18,229 for Sosnowski versus $721 for Janko.

But shoe leather can replace money.

His second piece of literature is clearly aimed at parents of school children.

On the back are Janko’s legislative goals.

The third piece in the packet tells a bit about his background.

Note there is not a word about abortion.

  1. Consider that many of the recipients were residents of Sun City.

  2. You want to protect children?

Come out and say Drag shows and porn for kids is wrong!

And of course, stop killing them in the womb!

  3. The beet is an underrated tuber vegetable. Sometimes I’ll cook beets and onions and then add a little vinegar, salt, pepper, and herbs. Put it in a container, shake it around, let it cool off in the fridge. It’s a nice side dish for lunch or dinner or just a snack!

Unfortunately, it’s too late to be getting that stuff locally now. It’s all about winter squash bro. You put some butter and brown sugar on it. Bake it in the oven. Only takes maybe 40 minutes but it depends how you cut it; obviously the smaller you cut it the quicker it will cook. I warn you though don’t eat the skin of the squash even if it feels soft unless you want to spend a lot of time on the toilet. It is just too much insoluble fiber.

Cabbage I like to stuff with ground beef. Some tomato sauce on top is good, but not too much if you’re sensitive for acid reflux. Red cabbage (which is actually more like a purple color) is better to eat raw, thinly sliced in a salad. You’ll often find salad mixes at stores with shredded red cabbage.

Carrots are good roasted with potatoes, eaten raw, or juiced. The carrot is also a tuber (root) vegetable like beets. You are eating the root. There is one religion where you are not allowed to eat tubers, but I do not practice that religion, Cal. It is called Jainism. They don’t eat honey either. But back to carrots: if you ever need parsley and have fresh bunched carrots with the leafy tops attached, you can use the green stuff like parsley. It smells very similar and is a chef hack.

Beet greens are sometimes cooked like other dark greens (collard greens, turnip greens, mustard greens, Swiss chard) and are considered “super foods” but they are pretty darn bitter! Lots of black people and people from the south eat that stuff. It’s ok as a small side dish but some people add so much salt to it to cancel out the bitter taste that they end up giving themselves hypertension. That’s why when you have hypertension the doctors recommend a reduced sodium diet sometimes called DASH.

Don’t even get me started on celery, Cal, but this Janko guy is going to lose his election, I think. What the HECK does he know about vegetables anyway???

Most of what he said makes sense, but that district looks difficult for a Democrat to win plus Democrats hate him like Shake said.

  4. Trust a LYING DEMOCRAT for anything and you get what your stupid ass deserves.

Jenko – Don’t pollute Huntley with your BS, just stay out.

  5. Is there a Democrat candidate anywhere in the U.S. who will call it like it is.

Namely say that she/he totally denounces the reckless and incompetent leadership at the top, Joseph Robinette Biden for his INTENTIONAL policies and acts to destroy the U.S.
