ROOM AND CONTENTS FIRE
Crystal Lake, IL – This morning at 09:37 AM, The Crystal Lake Fire Rescue Department responded to a reported structure fire at 1257 Boxwood Drive.
The first fire unit on scene arrived to report a fire in a bedroom on the second floor of a two-story, single family home.
Occupants in the home escaped without injury and called 911.
The home was equipped with a smoke detector that activated.
The home is not equipped with a residential sprinkler system.
The fire was confined to the bedroom with damage limited to the room of origin.
The fire was declared extinguished at 09:51 AM.
The structure remains habitable.
Damage to the structure and contents is estimated at $40,000.
There were no injuries to any firefighters or civilians.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by Crystal Lake Fire Rescue fire investigators.
