Algonquin Township Hides Reason for Hiring Outside Law Firm

There is a bill from the Zukowski law firm on the Algonquin Township agenda tonight for $2,707.03.

Why an outside attorney, I thought.

So I filed a Freedom of Information request.

Below is what I received:

Top secret, hush, hush.

Perhaps a Trustee will reveal the subject at tonight’s meeting.

  1. Funk has been looking into present and past elected Algonquin Township Officials and perhaps getting a second opinion on something.

I’m personally not a fan of Cortina’s myself.

From gift cards to trucks.ZRF&M are the Attorney’s for many Municipalities in McHenry County.

  2. ZRFW… Well that’s a dead give away that something is f-ed. Michael Smoron by chance?

He thinks he’s a trustee on every board in the county.

    Inquiring minds, Cal.

They should be called out for their redactions.

  3. Why is the atty who handled the secret matter not identified?

This is a violation of at least two statutes.

The Township cannot hide behind the firm.

The atty(s) involved MUST be identified in order to ascertain if the charges are correct, quite apart from the highly dubious atty-client privilege claim.

    Pathetic.

  4. It would be legally pretty-well protected like this if it were an employment, real estate or lawsuit issue.

    Take your pick.

  5. Mellow Monk displaying his stupidity once again.

As I understand it, the bill can be redacted for certain matters, but not all matters and must state a reason fir the redaction.

The attorney(s) involved must be identified as Haw Haw says because the hourly rates of specific lawyers cannot be glossed over.

If a mathematical miscalculation was made, then the public has a right to review the bill’s figures under FOIA regardless of the specific legal matter and bring the discrepancy to the attention of the governmental body.

That lawfirm is crooked as it gets.

  6. That Law Firm is vile – it’s filled with the most SEPTIC of SWAMP creatures.

ZRFW make lawyers look bad they are so connected with the most vile municipal swamp corrupt failures.

It’s not surprising they have such a horrible reputation – and that Funk hires them!

    LOL…the swamp creatures protect themselves.

  7. It is itemized, so the going rate for a specific attorney always varies for specific clients, trust me on that one.

$275 an hour, very over-priced no matter if it was Moron or Mary.

  8. Funk had a nice tribute to Veterans in today’s Northwest Herald.

Perhaps a FOIA should be sent to find out why.

Why should anyone be honoring veterans would be the cry. LOL

  9. You are a piece of filth that doesn’t deserve the freedom you have to speak, you woke jerk!

  10. Further explanation of the tribute, please.

    Letter to the Editor?

    Op-ed piece?

  11. It was on page 14 of yesterday’s NW Herald, paid for by Randy Funk in a tribute to Veterans. It was a nice tribute and not funded with taxpayers money. No gift cards or trucks provided.
