Breaking a Family Tradition

Every Thanksgiving Week for decades, our family has stayed a Disney World.

Not this year.

Lasrt year the advantages of being a passholder were diminished considerably.

No more fastpasses unless one pays more money.

It was kind of diminishing benefits that have occurred since buying a share of Disney stock in order to get in free was done away with the year after we bought it.

That on top of the loss of the daily parade in Animal Kingdom.

And how many photos of the same animals can one person take?

My favorite Disney World photo.

And, I’ve always considered the place just a big canival.

Lost will be the five to ten books (one a day in a good year) that I usually read while waiting in ride lines.

Typical of the books I have read at Disney World.

Or just sitting in front of our room in the usually warm shade.

  1. My Adult Pass in 1977 was $6.

Wasn’t a single structure from I-4 to the Disney front gate than, which any of you who visit today would find remarkable.

I brushed off my Floridian pal’s comments at the time, that this was the biggest land swindle in Florida history.

  2. The Indexing Factor for 1977 is 6.194, so in today’s dollars that $6 Adult Pass is $37.16.

Was going to ask, but a quick look shows that pass is $109-$159, depending on date?

    What the hell, Mickey!

  3. Congrats to you Cal, you finally woke up to scam.

Better late than never, I suppose, to
learn not to throw good money after bad.

After all, somebody has to pay Bob Iger’s salary so he can continue to run Disney into the ground
while collecting an astronomical income for gutting the pedo-palace.

Perhaps now you will understand why Walt was an Ant-Semite.

    https://thefederalist.com/2022/04/05/disneys-obsession-with-grooming-children-is-nothing-new-but-their-openness-about-it-is/

“Parents aren’t just enraged because there happens to be a same-sex couple in the background of a movie. It goes so much deeper than that.

The fact that adults working in children’s entertainment are intentionally forcing their sexual agendas on children should be infuriating and frightening to us all. They’re taking advantage of the innocence of children while they are most impressionable. Instead of letting kids be kids and using movies to let young imaginations run wild, Disney is actively trying to make them doubt fundamental truths.

Cancel culture has scared many parents from speaking out against these goals for fear of being seen as bigoted, but the time to cower to the mob isn’t now. A generation of minds is at stake.

Everyone has a worldview, and Disney is proving it will not shy away from an aggressive, all-out approach to molding and shaping children’s views of sexuality. Disney is bragging about coming for the hearts and minds of children, and every parent should be absolutely livid.”

  5. Ol Walt is rolling in his grave knowing how China owns his operations now… terrible thing… and so sad.

  6. Disney announces they are unfreezing Walt Disney’s head, to run the company again.

  7. Honest Abe Mr Iger hasn’t been with Disney since 2020.

I might add he was able to still make Disney Corp an Icon and very profitable, unlike his successor, Bob Chapek, who has ran it into the ground, so bad, that Mr Iger is coming back to reverse everything Chapek has done.

Hopefully it will turn around, not over night but very soon.

  8. So much for the old adage…

“If you build a better mousetrap, the world will beat a path to your door.”

  9. Walt was a Freemason. What are they about again? LOL.

    Rename the place Pedoland.

  10. LOL.. maybe you should give up doing bongs until the New Year sport. Getting educated really doesn’t seem to be your highest priority. I love the know it all IL RINO.

As yor speedo sailing buddy says…you’re obsessed. Keep punching

    https://www.lyrics.com/lyric/4290125/Nana+Mouskouri/Deck+the+Halls+With+Boughs+of+Holly

“Deck the halls with boughs of holly
    Fa-la-la-la-la, la-la-la-la
‘Tis the season to be jolly
    Fa-la-la-la-la, la-la-la-la
Don we now our gay apparel
    Fa-la-la, la-la-la, la-la-la.
    Troll the ancient Yule-tide carol
    Fa-la-la-la-la, la-la-la-la.”

    “Gay apparel”???

What is that? The song has been around for a very long time. No doubt “gay apparel” was referring to clothes for the joyous time of Christmas.

On a related matter, all of the media have for decades been referring to Christmas as the “holidays”. Why not just say Christmas? Before that, the media in print would refer to Christmas as “Xmas”. Will be listening, watching the media in the next 4-5 weeks to find if any use the correct term, “Christmas”.
