Influx of migrants to Chicago places a strain on city resources; city moving forward with temporary shelter at school in Woodlawn

“The strain on Chicago’s resources from a continued influx of migrants was underscored this week when Mayor Lori Lightfoot asked the state for $54 million in emergency funding and her administration confirmed it will open a shelter for asylum-seekers at a former school in Woodlawn.”

  1. Pritzker has 2 mansions downtown, 1 allegedly with no toilets, which would be perfect for a few dozen of the so called migrants.

    Just sayin

  2. Here is a solution.

Every one of the millions who voted for Joseph Robinette Biden Junior in 2020 should volunteer to take in one or more of the invaders.

The national Democrat Party and the media could collaborate to set up an “Invader Support Network Registry”, ISNR, which would connect one or two invaders, and also a child invader if with an adult invader, to a specific Biden voter, henceforth termed an “Invader Biden Supporter”, or IBS.

The” IBSers would have to sign a legal document stating that they will house, feed, clothe the invaders and also be totally responsible for any crimes they might commit. In addition, the IBSers would be responsible for the health of the invaders and provide them with any transportation and entertainment needs.

  3. Economically, we benefit from them, JT.

The guys who put a new roof on my house last fall were all immigrants, mostly undocumented (my guess by their language and demeanor), but worked for one of the oldest and largest roofing companies in the area.

Likewise the guys fixing the problem roof on another property downtown, in this lousy weather.

They do work gringos won’t, they pay taxes, they cannot collect social security.

  4. I’d rather have someone who floated here on a 54 Chevy through shark infested waters or walked 1000 miles of third world jungle hell as a neighbor, than anyone from Illinois.

  5. Many of them work off the books and don’t pay taxes, and their children are a huge economic burden on the welfare system and the schools.

The need for additional esl teachers is really stressing many school districts, and is a major contributor to the teacher shortage.

They are also a huge burden on the health care system.

  6. Sure Martin, there are zero US citizens that do roof work.

Invite an illegal family to live with you.

  7. +1 p.r
They like to break our laws now they including chi town beetle juice can take care of them on their own us legal tax payeing law abiding citizens never wanted this garbage. Oh yeah we never voted on it either! U and your libtard voters now deal

  8. You dipsticks can’t even address logic and facts.

Name-calling is the refuge info the weak.

As to this nonsense – “ there are zero US citizens that do roof work” – of course that is not true, no more than there are zero Republicans who are decent citizens who strive to be truthful and do not cheat on their taxes.

I can also find gringos who wash dishes and mow lawns for a living, but most of that work is done by immigrants.

  9. So Martin it’s OK to break our laws crossing the border illegally rather than securing proper paperwork that allows you to work and be here legally on a temporary basis.

Liberal logic never ceases to amaze me.

    Priceless.

PS. Doesn’t starting your post by name calling make you weak?

    LOL

  10. You provide zero solutions Martin, you only push the kumbaya line of fanciful liberal thinking.

8 billion humans on earth currently, how many is too many?

Overpopulation may be the overriding problem, but talking about that is the 3rd rail of politics. Democrats need the votes
