Last June, McHenry County State’s Attorney Patrick Kenneally’s Office began seeking to remove Algonquin Township Trustee Ed Zimel from office.
In August a court case was filed to that effect.
The reason goes back to a felony conviction for intimination thirty-two years ago in 1990 for which he was fined $500 and sentenced to home confinement for three months.
A filing by Zimel attornry John Nelson says Algonquin Supervisor Randy Funk was involved with the initiation of the case:
Funk’s motivation could well be the role Zimel has played turning crucial votes into 4-1 losses for Funk.
Tomorrow a motion to dimiss filed by Zimel’s attorney John Nelson will be argued before Judge Joel Berg.
In his court filing, Nelson argues the following:
The Algonquin Township Board meeting is tonight at 7.
