Ugaste 103rd General Assembly Committee Assignments Include Republican Spokesperson Role on Three Committees

SPRINGFIELD – On Tuesday, House Republican Leader Tony McCombie (R-Savanna) appointed State Representative Dan Ugaste (R-Geneva) to serve on six House committees, three of which he will hold the role of Republican Spokesperson.

Rep. Ugaste will be the spokesperson for the

  • House Labor & Commerce,
  • Judiciary – Civil, and
  • Financial Institutions Committees.

He will also serve on the

  • House Police & Fire,
  • Public Utilities, and
  • Prescription Drug Affordability Committees.

“I am honored to be serving the House on these important committees, leading Republicans in three of them,” said Rep. Ugaste.

“This spring session, my goals are to collaborate with my colleagues to identify solutions for the pressing issues our state faces. These solutions include attracting business to Illinois, revitalizing our economy, ensuring we have safe communities, and lowering the high cost of living. I will work to advance legislation to achieve these goals this spring and throughout the 103rd General Assembly.”

Rep. Ugaste brings unique and robust knowledge to his assignments with his career as a workers compensation attorney and his previous committee assignments. He has prior experience on the Labor & Commerce, Police & Fire, and Judiciary – Civil committees.

“In the General Assembly, we gather minds from different areas and perspectives across the state to debate legislation that affect all Illinoisans,” Rep. Ugaste continued.

“I plan to combine my experience as an attorney with my representation of the Fox Valley region to present the views of my constituents, ensuring we pass the best bills we can out of committees and our chamber.”

Rep. Ugaste was sworn into his third term in the House of Representatives on January 11th, 2023.

    With all these Committee assignments, this local yokel makes more money than the Governor of Texas.

  2. Legislators get paid extra for being a Committee Spokesman, but I don’t think its cumulative.

    You can get paid for one committee chair or spokesperson role.

    You don’t get paid for each.

  6. Ugaste started out OK, but got absorbed into the piglet RINO patrol, fighting for scraps from their democrat pet-owners.
