Bull Valley’s Arguments for Home Rule Referendum Approval — 5 Comments

  1. Bull Valley and a lot of of “towns” which are really just collections of homes with no town centers and no commercial development to provide a tax base, should not exist.

In their search for revenues they become speed traps and annex land to the nearest arterial hoping to put some sort of disembodied commercial development there.

This leads to bad land use for the county as a whole.

  2. Don’t do it. Home rule will only give the woke generation leaders free ride to do what they want.

    Raise taxes?

Enact new rules and laws without resident input?

That is what will happen. Just another example of losing our rights.

What ever happened to “……….without representation”?

  3. Because actually makes sense today.

    Jack W.: Bravo!

These home rule idiots really put the bull in Bull Valley

  4. The residents of Bull Valley need to be informed of the kind of crap Home Rule is and not to vote for it.

I don’t think people realize what they can do if this gets passed.

There was a old hot dog stand in a well known community that was a part of that town for many, many years.

The village decided that they could make better use of that property than an old hot dog stand and they gave them fair market value for their business and leveled it and put up a high rise.

If they decide they think your property could be better suited as something else for their liking, say goodbye to your rights.

Everyone needs to wake up and not let this pass.

There is a different agenda behind all of this, do not give up your rights.

Please vote NO and talk to everyone you can about this.

  5. In general I would say that Home Rule is just a revenue generator.

In Bull Valley where there is not industry or retail, etc, who would pay the price of revenue generating ideas?

The bulk of any new taxes to be imposed fall entirely on the residents.

Call it a tax on utilities, real estate transfers, that is on the residents.

Call it a tax on fuel and hotels, well, we don’t have any of that.

So unless the village is willing to allow such businesses into our village, we will not have the advantage of home rule like other towns do.

So instead of home rule, why are we not voting for allowing businesses to locate in our village.?
