Huntley Schedules Citizen Police Academy

2023 Huntley Police Department Citizen Police Academy Class

The Huntley Police Department is now accepting applications for the upcoming Citizen Police
Academy.

The Citizen Police Academy is scheduled to begin on Wednesday, March 15th, 2023 from 6:30 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., and will meet every Wednesday night through May 17, 2023 at the Huntley Police Department, located at 10911 Main Street, Huntley.

The Citizen Police Academy is at ten-week program designed to give participants a working knowledge of the Huntley Police Department.

It consists of a series of classes and discussions which provide an overview of the various areas of law enforcement. It is an educational and informative program that allows citizens the opportunity to learn about the issues that affect law enforcement efforts in the Village of Huntley.

The Citizen Police Academy is free of charge and is open to individuals who are at least 18 years of age and live or work in the Village of Huntley.

Applicants will be subject to a background check. Advanced registration is required and seating is limited. If you are interested in attending the Citizen Police Academy and would like an application, they are available at the Police Department or can be downloaded from the Village of Huntley Police Department website, bit.ly/CitizenPoliceAcademy2023.

The registration deadline is Tuesday, February 28th, 2023.

Graduates of the program are not certified police officers; however they are prepared with a better knowledge of how law enforcement agencies operate.

Some graduates will decide to join the Huntley Citizen’s Police Academy Alumni Association which provides continuing education and volunteer opportunities with the Department.
