Parent Advocacy Group Reacts to Prizker’s Dumping $500,000 in School & Library Board Elections

From Awake Illinois:

Awake Illinois launched in 2021 as a platform for parents, educators, and communities to center on the issues affecting families, students, and everyday citizens.

We represent all walks of life, backgrounds, and political beliefs.

Our advocacy is rooted in compassion for our fellow neighbors. It’s why for two years, we’ve been defending constitutional rights, due process, education integrity, and parental rights. We aren’t stopping for one second even when partisan opposition, the media, and internet trolls spew Machiavellian vitriol at our leadership team, volunteers, or school board candidates.

Grassroots activism isn’t for the faint of heart but hustle and heart set us apart.

The civil rights movement of our time is undeniably the issue of education and it’s disappointing to see the Illinois non partisan school board elections become so politicized.

As reported in the Illinois Review yesterday, Gov. Pritzker and the Democratic Party are obviously running scared.

It’s why Gov. Pritzker attacked us during a press conference a few weeks ago, and why he’s donated $500K to school board candidates that will tow his political, anti-child, anti-parent, anti-freedom agenda.

If supporting academic excellence, equality in schools, children’s innocence, parental rights, and lower property taxes makes us “extreme”, then so be it.

Our goal is to see IL children supported to reach their greatest potential while building strong IL communities.

Candidate endorsements will become public closer to Election Day.

We cannot be canceled and neither can your vote on April 4, 2023 for committed school board candidates.

  1. Oh so much is revealed by a group’s word choices in this type of “press release”.

  2. Tom, suppose you desist from sexualizing little kids for a few hours.
