New Republican County Board Member Matt Kunkle’s Campaign Finances

Matt Kunkle, nominated by the Algonquin Township Republican Central Committee, got off to a fast start with three $1,000 contriutrions from

  • LouAnne Majewski
  • Jerome Majewski
  • Darby Hills

in August and September.

There was also a $4,000 loan from Algonquin’s SARK Enterprises, LLC.

During the same third quarter of 2022, he spent $6,161.79:

  • 469.26 on tee shirts from American Apparel & Promotions of Lake in the Hills
  • $234.62 for palm cards from Plum Grove, Inc., of Cary
  • $4,595.54 for a mailing, also from Plum Grove
  • $862.37 in smaller amounts

Kunkle borrowed $8,915.50:

  • $7,254.50 from SARK Enterprises, LLC
  • $1,661 from Matt & Sherry Kunkle

That takes us through September of last year.

Before the November election, Kunkle pulled in two more contributions:

  • $250 from McHenry County Sheriff’s candidate Robb Tadelman
  • $150 from Patrick Sullivan of Algonquin
  • $500 in donations of under $150 each

He spent $962.32,

  • $371.44 for campaign flyers from Plum Grove
  • $500 for a group mailing sent out by Curtis Scott Advertising, Inc. of Elmhurst

In addition, the Illinois Republican Party provided $1,177 for a mailing.

Kunkle ran first with incumbent Democrat Theresa Meshes second, with two to be elected.

Newcomer Republican Matt Kundle was the highest vote getter in District one, while Democrat Theresa Meshes ran second. Incumbent Republican Tom Wilbeck came in third 657 votes out of the running. Incumber Demcorat Michael Vijuk placed fouth. Running last was Libertarian Kenneth Martin Mattes.

  1. I was happy to see Matt echo my desire for fair and equal political discussion and the notion that we can do better.

    I hope he holds true to those campaign points.
