From the Crystal Lake Fire/Rescue Department:

STRUCTURE FIRE – 9317 Firth Ct.

Lakewood, IL – The Crystal Lake Fire Rescue Department responded to a reported structure fire at 5:54 am.

A subject not on the scene reported to police that there was a fire in the home.

The first fire unit on scene arrived in 6 minutes and reported the fire to be out.

A search of the one-story, single-family home revealed no one was present.

Fire crews extinguished some smoldering contents with little water used.

The home sustained significant heat and smoke damage throughout and appears to have burned itself out.

It was declared uninhabitable.

Damage to the structure and contents is estimated at $250,000.

There were no injuries to any firefighters.

The cause of the fire is undetermined and under investigation by fire investigators from Crystal Lake Fire Rescue, the Office of the State Fire Marshal, and Lakewood Police.
