Greenwood Township Supervisor Barbara Klasen died on May 20th.

Barbara Ann Klasen

December 20, 1948 – May 20, 2023

Barbara Ann Klasen, age 74, of Wonder Lake, Illinois passed away peacefully on May 20, 2023 at home with her family by her side.

Barbara was born on December 20, 1948 in Chicago, Illinois to Edward and Virginia Koehler. She married her beloved husband John T. Klasen on May 17, 1969 at Queen of Angles in Chicago, Illinois.

Barbara was a Wonder Lake Fire Department Trustee, Greenwood Township Supervisor as well as an Insurance Agent for past 40 years. She was loved by many and will be sorely missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her husband of 54 years: John T. Klasen, her children: Tammy (Gary) Herkert, Johnny (Julianne) Klasen and James (Jenn) Klasen; her grandchildren: Josh, Ashley, Grace, Johnny and Trevor as well as her siblings: Bill (Jan) Koehler, Eddy (Ann) Koehler and Ann Pearman.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents: Edward and Virginia Koehler.

Memorial Visitation will take place on Thursday, May 25th, 2023 from 4:00pm to 8:00pm at Colonial Funeral Home in McHenry, Illinois. Family and friends will meet at Holy Apostles Cemetery in McHenry, Illinois on Friday, May 26th, 2023 for a 12:00pm  gravesite service.
