Because Lakewood Village President David Stavropoulos brought the topic up at the beginning of the Board meeting in the second week of May, I filed a Freedom of Information request for “documents showing and village payments for legal expenses.”
There were two relevant documents, bills from Travelers Insurance:
Taxpayers are only footing $2,500 of the legal bills.
Everyone laughed when I said you’d be better off with a couple dozen monkeys with organ grinders to run that hamlet.
Pretty much guaranteed that premium will double next year, far exceeding that claim.
