More Competition for Lakewood’s Proposed RedTail Golf Course Clubhouse

In the most recent Crystal Lake Park District newsletter, the attributes of the Main Beach House, now with a full bar, concession area, bridal suite and the best view from a large venue in Crystal Lake were featured:

Sunset over Crystal Lake on July 2, 2017.

If given a choice, do you think prospective renters would select a view of a golf course or Crystal Lake?

I believe we see the 2011 wedding party of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Steck posing for pictures at Crystal Lake’s Main Beach.

  1. “If given a choice, do you think prospective renters would select a view of a golf course or Crystal Lake?”

There is only so much room.

Not everyone can use the main beach if it is already booked.

  2. I think they’d look at the prospective property tax bills, swoon, and then nix any Illinois relocation!

  3. That Wedding Party photo tells you what you need to know.

The lake provides critical water, but the golf course has the grazing advantages.

But to prevent the problems caused by the gals eating off the ground, parasites etc.

I recommend just buying a well-designed feeder which will prevent waste from spillage.

  4. The property tax bills for business are much, much less when one gets out of Cook County.

Of course, there is the offset that real estate bills on homes are much, much higher outside of Cook County.

  5. Why do the government bodies get into these business that compete with private sector concerns?

We have bars, and other venues that can host such events.

  6. Cook County hits commercial and apartments harder than single family.

Back in the day on single family, comparatively, Cook was about 1.5% of market value, Lake was about 2.5%, McHenry about 2.25%.

  7. You have to be somewhat careful talking about Cook County property tax rates, because Chiraq tax rates pretty much dominate the average tax rates reported for the County.

A lot of suburban Cook County homeowners pay a much higher property tax rate.

Chiraq has a much larger business community to lean on, and it gets far more state aid for schools.

Cook County also uses the suburbs as a cash cow to help defray expenses that are disproportionately caused by Chiraq residents, such as the costs of running the Cook County Health and Hospital System and the Cook County Jail.

  8. A trans now works at my library (McHenry).

    He is a sickening sight.

I guess these sickos need attention.
