Back in the 1990’s, Crystal Lake Bernotas Middle School teacher William Saturday (also known as “Mr. Hands”) groomed a student and, while she was in high school, had an affair with her.

He was apparently too cheap to buy condoms or didn’t like the feel, so he took her to the Woodstock McHenry County Health Department office several times for free shots of the three-month ovulation suppressant depo provera.

Financed by the Federal government, the Title X grant acceptance requirements imposed upon McHenry County required the dispensing of birth control drugs and devices without a young girl’s parents being any the wiser.

But, during the affair, the high schooler learned 37-year old Saturday was engaged to be married.

She then confided with her father, who contacted the Crystal Lake Police.

Police then recorded a conversation between the girl and her former teacher.

Saturday was charged with and convicted of multiple counts of criminal sexaul assault, child pornography and official misconduct

He was sentenced to ten years in prison.

The McHenry County Board dropped the Federal subsidy program and provided local money for birth control for those over eighteen.

This enraged Personal PAC, the pro-abortion Political Action Committee.

In its questionnaire to McHenry County Board candidates, reinstatement of Title X is the main question.

This year, Democrats have put County Board member Kelli Weggener up to run against Republican Mike Buehler.

She favors again seeking TitleX Federal birth control grant money which lacks any age-related limitations. With Weggener’s policy, a 13-year old girl could obtain the shot while keeping her parents completely in the dark, at least until other issues like Sexually Transmitted Diseases might lead to parental involvement.
