From that part of the McHenry County Republican Party that comprises the least populated part of the county comes this analysis by Norwest Repulican Secretary Marty Mohr.

NorWest currently includes Coral, Riley, Seneca, Marengo, Greenwood, Hartland, Dunham, Burton, Richmond, Hebron, Alden and Chemung Townships.

What a night! 🇺🇲 🇺🇲 Trump Wins!!    – and based on preliminary McHenry County results, NorWest delivered for the county!  Every NorWest Precinct in McHenry County carried President Trump except for Greenwood 2, 3, 4 & 5.

Based on preliminary results in the NorWest Precincts, here’s how our candidates who were opposed did:

  • State Rep. Joe Sosnowski – won every NorWest Precinct
  • Incumbent Coroner Dr. Michael Rein – won every NorWest Precinct
  • Incumbent Chairman Mike Buehler – won every NorWest Precinct except Dunham 1 (where he missed by 4 votes)
  • County Board District 6 – Incumbent Carl Kamienski – won every Norwest Precinct (Burton 1, 2, 3 & 4)

In a great Republican Pickup, County Board District 7, newcomer Paul Thomas unseated far-left liberal Lou Ness.  Greenwood Township helped with victories in 6 of the 10 precincts (Greenwood 1, 2, 6, 7, 8 &10). I was with Paul last night and I know he appreciates all the support he got from NorWest PCs.

County Board District 8 – Incumbent Tracie VonBergen had a NorWest clean sweep winning every Precinct in Alden, Chemung, Dunham, Hartland, Hebron, Marengo, Richmond, & Seneca.

County Board District 9 – Incumbent Jim Kearns had a NorWest clean sweep winning every Precinct in Coral and Riley Townships.

When it came to a 33% tax increase from the Conservation District, NorWest said NO NEW TAXES in every Precinct in Alden, Chemung, Coral, Hartland, Marengo, & Riley. Voting in favor was Dunham 1, Seneca 2, Richmond 2 & 6, Burton 3, & Greenwood 2, 3, 4, 5 & 6.  Preliminary results show this referendum failing, however this race remains extremely tight with less than 300 votes separating the No from the Yes.

While we take some time to celebrate, we cannot forget that we still have 22 vacant precincts.  Based on yesterday’s results, we have some Strong Republicans in NorWest who can help fill these spots.

If you have any McHenry County Candidate signs, please do not throw them away.  Contact me and I’ll help get them back to their owner so they can be reused.

Enjoy your day and thanks for everything you did to make this a great success for America and McHenry County!
