From the McHenry Township Fire Protection District::

On Saturday, November 30th, at approximately 7 p.m., the McHenry Township Fire Protection District (MTFPD) was dispatched to a reported structure fire in the 2900 block of W. Parksi Ave. in unincorporated McHenry.

Fire crews arrived on scene within four minutes to find a one- story residence with flames visible on the exterior.

At the time, it was unclear whether the residents were home.

Upon entering the structure, MTFPD crews discovered that the fire had spread to the interior. They initiated an aggressive interior attack while simultaneously conducting a search of the home.

The fire was brought under control in approximately 20 minutes.

There were no civilian or firefighter injuries.

The fire is currently under investigation, and a damage estimate is not available at this time.

The house is deemed uninhabitable.

MTFPD upgraded the fire to a MABAS (Mutual Aid Box Alarm System) Box Alarm for change of quarter companies only. MTFPD received assistance from the Fox Lake, Nunda, and Crystal Lake Fire Departments at the scene. Fox River Grove, Antioch, Spring Grove, Richmond, Cary, Round Lake, and Lake Villa Fire Departments provided station coverage.
