From the Crystal Lake Fire/Rescue Department::

Structure Fire – 5719 Haligus Rd. Woodstock, IL.

Crystal Lake, IL – The Crystal Lake Fire Rescue Department responded to a reported structure fire at 7:54 pm at 5719 Haligus Rd. that was called in by a passer-by.

The first fire units arrived on scene within 6 minutes and reported fire and smoke showing on arrival from a single story pole-barn/garage.

The first arriving units did not enter the structure due to the construction of the building and the amount of fire.

There are limited fire hydrants in the area and water tenders were used to bring water to the scene.

Assistance was provided by the following fire departments: Algonquin/Lake-In-The-Hills Fire Protection District, Barrington Fire Dept, Barrington/Countryside Fire Protection District,, Carpentersville Fire Dept,, Cary Fire Protection District, Huntley Fire Protection District, Marengo Fire Protection District, McHenry Fire Protection District, Nunda Rural Fire Protection District, West Dundee Fire Dept, Wonder Lake Fire Protection District, Wauconda Fire Protection Dist. and Woodstock Fire Department.

The detached garage/pole-barn building sustained fire, heat, smoke, and water damage.

No adjacent structures received damage.

Power and gas were disconnected to the property at the time of the fire.

Two firefighters sustained minor injuries at the scene and were transported to the hospital and released.

The fire remains under investigation.

Estimated loss to the property is $150,000.

There were no injuries to any civilians.
