Harvard Fire Responds to Route 14 Rollover with Critical Injuries
On December 27, 2024, at 5:56 p.m., the Harvard Fire Protection District responded to a report of a single-vehicle rollover crash in the 9500 block of Route 14 in unincorporated Harvard.
Upon arrival, first responders found a heavily damaged pickup truck overturned on its side, with debris scattered across the front yard of a home.
One adult male was discovered outside the vehicle, having apparently been ejected during the crash.
Paramedics immediately began lifesaving measures at the scene, working alongside MD-1, an emergency physician response unit, to provide advanced medical care.
Poor visibility caused by rain and heavy fog prevented a medical helicopter from safely responding as initially requested.
The critically injured patient was transported by ambulance to Javon Bea Hospital—Riverside in Rockford.
The McHenry County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the crash. For questions regarding the investigation, including cause, contributing factors, or other details, please contact them directly.
Route 14 remains closed in both directions at the time of this email.
