From State Rep. Marty McLaughlin:
Rep. McLaughlin Sworn into 104th General Assembly
SPRINGFIELD – State Representative Martin McLaughlin (R-Barrington Hills) took the oath of office yesterday as a member of the House of Representatives at the inauguration ceremony for the 104th General Assembly.
This begins his third term with the Illinois House of Representatives after being elected to his position in 2020.
“It is an honor to serve the hardworking constituents of the 52nd District for another General Assembly in Springfield,” said Rep. McLaughlin. “We are a strong district of families, hardworking individuals, and first responders committed to making our communities better places to live.”
“I will continue working across the aisle with my colleagues tackling the serious issues facing our families this spring. With the last General Assembly finally behind us, there is much work to do addressing regional transit, DCFS, and the serious fiscal challenges including pensions, property taxes, and Springfield’s out-of-control spending addiction,” said McLaughlin.
“I look forward to serving my district in Springfield and hosting community events around the district.
“My goal this term is to continue advocating for meaningful financial relief and safer communities for our families,” said McLaughlin.
“I will again pledge to always tell you the truth, no matter how unpopular this promise may make me in the political arena, because the hardworking people of the 52nd district deserve the respect of me being upfront and honest on the serious challenges we face in Illinois.
“My hope is that we may find more civility and collaboration in the 104th General Assembly because we are running out of time to keep our state moving in a positive direction,” said Rep. McLaughlin.
