State Rep. Jeff Keicher did the heavy lifting on the bill to conform the driver’s license requirements for those over 75 to those in other states.
But the Senate President, a Democrat, decided for some reason he did not like the bill and refused to call it for a vote.
This year, Keicher gave prime sponsorship to one of my former colleagues, Jay Hoffman, a Metro-East Democrat who has been around a l-o-n-g time.
There was a press conference about the bill in Chicago this week and, to my surprise, the Daily Herald used a photo of Keicher to accompany its article.
