Block Club published a story on 1910 urinals at an old brewery at a Chicago bar.
Our family visited Washington about 1950, which I can date to the time President Truman was living in Blair House while the White House was being re-furbished.
We saw Truman walking across Pennsylvania, cane in hand, toward the Old Executive Office Building where I was to work for the Budget Bureau about fifteen years later.
We visited the Washington Monument and one of us had to go to the bathroom.
Dad took me and my little sister into a large men’s room with urinals.
“Why are those bathtubs standing on end?” she asked.
Funny how what remembers from way back when.
