From the Huntley Police Department:

2025 Huntley Police Department Citizen Police Academy Class

The Huntley Police Department is now accepting applications for the upcoming Citizen Police Academy.

The Citizen Police Academy is scheduled to begin on Wednesday, February 26th, 2025, from 6:30 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., and will meet every Wednesday night through May 7, 2025, with the exception of March 26th.

Sessions will be held at the Huntley Police Department, 10911 Main Street, Huntley.

The Citizen Police Academy is a ten-week program designed to give participants a working knowledge of the Huntley Police Department.

It consists of a series of classes and discussions which provide an overview of the various areas of law enforcement.

It is an educational and informative program that allows citizens to learn about the issues that affect law enforcement efforts in the Village of Huntley.

The Citizen Police Academy is free of charge and is open to individuals at least 18 years of age who live or work in the Village of Huntley.

Applicants will be subject to a background check. Advanced registration is required, and seating is limited.

If you are interested in attending the Citizen Police Academy and would like to sign up, you can do so on the Village of Huntley Police Department website or by going here.

If you would like additional information on this program, please contact Officer Jerry Keppler at (847) 515-5409 or jkeppler@huntley.il.us.

The registration deadline is Tuesday, February 19th, 2025.

Graduates of the program are not certified police officers; however, they are prepared with a better knowledge of how law enforcement agencies operate.

Some graduates will decide to join the Huntley Citizen’s Police Academy Alumni Association which provides continuing education and volunteer opportunities with the Department.
