In my article about the new four-year contract McHenry County Administrator for which Peter Austin is seeking approval, I misinterpreted the salary part.
Four years ago his salary as set at $211,000.
Starting with the requested May renewal, the base salary would be $250,000.
As the County Board increased the salaries of non-union employees each year, Austin received the same percentage as rest.
That resulted in the following salary levels:
- 5/1/2022: $219,439.95
- 5/1/2023: $228,217.60
- 5/1/2024: $237,346.30
So, the increase in salary from the current $237,346.30 to $250,000 would be $12,653.70, not the $39,000 I incorrectly reported–5.3%.
