Crisis Reporting & Family Supports
District 47 is committed to supporting the whole child. When students present with a mental health or safety concern during school hours, clinicians and/or administrators will address the situation and collaborate with parents/guardians to support student needs. If students present with mental health or safety needs outside of school hours, it is important to utilize community resources.
District 47 is partnering with Safe2Help Illinois to provide students, staff and families with a confidential platform to report concerns such as suicides, bullying, and school violence. Report via:

Information about the District’s Suicide and Depression Awareness Prevention Policy (board policy 7:290) can be found on the District’s website. Services provided pursuant to this policy: (1) do not replace the care of a physician licensed to practice medicine in all of its branches or a licensed medical practitioner or professional trained in suicide prevention, assessments and counseling services, (2) are strictly limited to the available resources within the District, (3) do not extend beyond the school day and/or school-sponsored events, and (4) cannot guarantee or ensure the safety of a student or the student body.

MCHELP is a free mobile app that provides access to counseling services 24/7 via anonymous text. McHenry County youth and adults can confidentially text concerns related to stress, anxiety, depression, substance abuse, etc. to trained, licensed mental health providers. To download the app, search “MCHELP” in your phone’s app store.
