Regional Office of Education Seeking Sponsors for 2025 Scripps National Spelling Bee
WOODSTOCK, Ill. – The McHenry County Regional Office of Education is seeking generous, community-minded sponsors to help send the winner of the McHenry County Regional Spelling Bee to the 2025 Scripps National Spelling Bee.
This year’s McHenry County Regional Spelling Bee will take place at 1 p.m Wednesday, March 19 at Bernotas Middle School, in Crystal Lake.
The champion of the local competition will represent McHenry County in the Scripps National Spelling Bee, which takes place May 27-29 in National Harbor, Md.
The Scripps National Spelling Bee celebrates its 100th birthday this year.
“Participating in the McHenry County Regional Spelling Bee cultivates confidence, public speaking skills, and so much more,” Regional Superintendent Diana Hartmann said.
“And a trip to represent McHenry County against the best spellers in the nation is an experience that the winner will never forget.
“We greatly appreciate whatever help we can get to cover the costs to make sure McHenry County is represented in this venerable competition that celebrates its centennial this year.”
