From State Rep. Jeff Keicher:

Governor Pritzker delivered his annual Budget Address in Springfield on Wednesday.
As a strong supporter of our Jewish friends and neighbors here at home as well as those in Israel, I was outraged when the Governor smeared Republicans and Republican voters as Nazis in his speech.
This type of disgusting rhetoric should have no place in our political discourse and is beneath the dignity of the Governor.
It is a lazy overused trope that has no value in the serious business that the Illinois voter sent us to the Capitol to work on – especially during his State of the State address to a joint House and Senate session.
I stood up and made comments on the floor on my feelings immediately following this speech and demanded that the Governor make an apology not only to Republican members of the General Assembly but to the people of Illinois who deserve better.
This appears to be another step in his campaign to seek an office in Washington DC.
